Where's my holster?

We've always tried here, on the forum, to remain neutral regarding holster problems. For awhile we stopped allowing complaints about holster makers that had long delivery dates because of how this topic always involves situations which we can verify and substantiate from either side. Everyone has a different side of the story and it just never seemed fair to one or the other. Our current policy really hasn't worked very well, with either members or the holster maker getting upset with us because we were either not allowing the thread, or not removing it, depending on what side of the transaction you happen to be. While have made an honest effort, it evidently hasn't been the correct one. I will accept the responsibility for some of you believing we were covering for this person or that person, being part of the problem, etc.

We're now going to try something different. I'm opening up this single thread for you to have a venue to document your particular situation, and for the holster makers to communicate to you directly should you have a problem. Keeping the lines of communications open seems to have helped some of you get leather that you may not have otherwise received and we are going to be committed to that task.

If you are a consumer that has bought and paid for leather but haven't received it by the promised date, this thread is the place for you to say that, a place where the buyer posts the problem and the holster maker responds and, hopefully, makes it right. We have no guarantees that they will answer your complaint here or that they will even read them, much less make good on their original promises to their customers. I think it will, however, if they don't respond, help paint an accurate picture of how potential new customers may be treated should they make a purchase from those with reported problems. When, and if, you receive your holster, you're also encouraged to post the conclusion here as well.

If you have previously made a complaint post that was removed. You're welcome to add it here and as long as the general forum rules are maintained, it will not be removed.

I certainly hope this helps. If it doesn't, we'll head back to the drawing board again until we can resolve the problem, without becoming a part of it. Any comments or complaints may be PM'd to me.

On the flipside of all this, we don't want to paint custom holster makers with a broad brush for those of you that may avoid ordering from a custom holster maker because some of the problems discussed here. You shouldn't. While demand is high and reasonable wait times are common, all of the custom holster makers we have sponsoring this site have delivered orders as promised and have kept the communication lines open with their customers.

On June 17, 2009 I ordered a custom paddle holster and mag pouch for my 239 (Alligator) from Black Hills Leather out of Laredo, Texas. Rudy told me it would be completed in 3 -4 weeks. Although I have no actual complaint and we're only a week or two over the time estimate, I'm just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with this outfit? If so, please let me know good or bad. Thanks

Well after three times the promised wait time, I received my Alligator paddle holster and mag pouch from Black Hills Leather. I had to prod Rudy via email for the past two weeks and once he mailed it, he sent it UPS ground which lengthened the delay time an additional week, but in the end it was worth it. What a great job. Workmanship is top quality. The entire holster and pouch are alligator, not just applied panels or pieces and the gun and mag fits to perfection. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again. Wait time will be longer than promised, but what a finished product. My photos don't do justice to the quality of the work.

Ordered a holster from Brigade Leather Company July 23, 2008. I've called them a couple of times, and they said it was in production. That was three weeks ago. Original time quoted was 6 months. I'm a patient guy however,...they have tested the limits. Bad business practice IMO.

Hi all. Bought a couple of holsters from KT Holsters : Concealment Holsters and Accessories For Kel Tec Pistols
I paid on July 13th. KT Holsters sent an email a few weeks later saying that they were waiting on a leather shipment. I've been trying to reach them and they have not responded to their email. There may be some other people in a similar situation with this company according to a thread on ktog.org (a kel-tec discussion forum).

I have a dispute pending with paypal as KT Holsters has not replied to any emails and does not offer a contact phone number on ktholsters.com.

Just wanted to share. If I hear anything from KTHolsters I will post a followup.

Looking for others who have delivery problems with Terry Savanich of Our Bandit Leather Crafters in Ohio.

$300 custom leather rig ordered '20' months ago (1/08). Can get 'NO' delivery date (originally 4 months) other than . . . "When I can get to it." by this company. Terry Savanich is 'very' difficult to get any kind of 'business like' response from. Makes you 'wait longer' if you question his non-completion of contract . . . as a 'lesson'!

Our Bandit

Hopefully you paid by major Credit Card. If not you are probably screwed.

From The Web............

Dear Readers. I’ll not even pretend to know what the hell is going on with Terry Savanich of ‘Our Bandit Leather Crafters’ anymore. Over the last few months my mailbox has had increasing traffic telling me every possible version of horror story possible. Now the complaints have reached the point of at least one a day! It appears that for whatever reason - and despite making some mighty fine leather - Terry has decided to screw over dozens of would-be purchasers of his wares. Yep, I understand being sick. Done enough of that myself! However, there is NO reason that he couldn’t be honest and refund the money to his prepaid clients if he isn’t physically capable of doing the work he contracted to do.

As all of you are no doubt aware, I wrote of my praise concerning Terry’s leather work when I received, promptly, my leather from him. Now The Bull is feeling guilty for possibly leading many readers astray. (Gods! I hope that none of this really is my fault.) I can’t help but feel as if I’ve been ripped off, too, for supporting Terry in his business and in his supposed illness.

NOTE: The Bull, & ‘The Bull Speaks!‘, no longer supports, endorses, or is involved with Terry Savanich or ‘Our Bandit Leather Crafters’. These thieving business practices should not be condoned on any level. More, I recommend that anyone with an order for leather with Terry seek out the Better Business Bureau. If your case is not settled quickly, then you should consider a lawsuit.

Peeps Beware

I ordered a holster from Brigade Gunleather 14 months ago. I have been promised delivery 3 times. Delivery delayed, it's in the mail, we sent it, WE LOST IT.... holster is in the mail again. They may have miscalculated alittle since the quoted delivery was about 6 to 7 months. (that was 7-23-2008). Calling this company is like callin' the White House.:aargh4: You can NOT email them or leave a message. Communication is to say the least .... not possible with Brigade. They don't accept messages. Before anyone ask, "why didn't you cancel the order." Cuz ya can't reach em' to do so. If you do speak to someone..."it's in production" or "in the mail". Yep...I got strung along for 14 months. LOL

This company has to rank in the top 3 of WORST holster companies on the net. I can't comment on the quality. I'm a pretty patient man but...this is beyond me. Don't waste your time:wink:

Our Bandit Leather

Last I heard from Terry Savanich was an email dated 6/17/09 stating that, 'He would be finishing up my 'long overdue' (from 01/08)) order within the next 'few weeks' and wanted to verify that I still lived at the same address. Nothing what so ever since then . . . '12' weeks now.

This company would not accept credit card payment so I contacted my bank (Wells Fargo) and had them issue and mail 'Bill Pay' bank checks to Gail Savanich and noting the 'order numbers' to which these checks ($211/$80) were dedicated to.

Wells Fargo tracked the checks and has documentation that the checks 'were received' and Gail Savanich cash 'both' within a week of recept . . . which 'sealed the deal' and tied the bank check payments to the order numbers on my 'Our Bandit Leather Invoice/Receipt and Order Description' correspondence (with the contracts 'agreed to' and 'promised' delivery dates for the order.

I talked with Wells Fargo legal department yesterday and they are more than willing to assist with this documentation when I persue 'legal action' against this company(?) . . . which is NOT far off!

I read through this thread and checked out Coal Creek Armory online. They have a notice on their page that they are no longer going to carry the Brommeland Holsters and are liquidating the few they have left. I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing for anyone still in limbo with Gary. If this was brought up before and I missed it, I apologize for the redundancy.

No more Brommeland Gunleather at Coal Creek Armory

I also have an order with Brigade Holsters. Quoted 7 to 8 months at the time of order. That was June/26/2008. Apparently they're only taking phone calls on Fridays now. Last time I spoke with them 2 months ago, they just started on June 08's orders. Still nothing.

This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. I'm about the call my credit card company and see if I can just stop any charges made by Brigade. At this point, I don't even want the damn thing.:hand1:

Ordered my CrossBreed holster 2 weeks ago...

Still haven't gotten it. I contacted I guess the dude who makes them, and is the primary owner by email. He wont pick up the phone. I've called several times on different occassions. He sent me the tracking number, and I looked up the tracking number and it says it went to my local area and than was available at a p.o. box. Than was forwarded because of wrong address. Which is why I'm assuming he put the wrong address on it. I than emailed him about 4 days later which was this morning, and it being now 5pm I would assume he would have read it by now seeing its a buisness email. I'm very unhappy with the way this has gone. I've ordered more than a few things online, this is the first time I've had something sent to me usps, instead of ups or fedex, and this is horrible. I spent nearly 80.00 on a holster that I haven't even gotten. I don't have just 80.00 to just throw away and forget about. :tumbleweed: I've checked the tracking number recently and there has been no update in 4 days. :aargh4:

- Sorry to hear about your experience. I ordered a Crossbreed holster and had it delivered in 5 days via USPS. One thing you should note is that USPS is horrific when it comes to tracking packages. It's nothing like UPS or FedEx. I've literally had to wait until minutes before the package was delivered to get an actual update on the package.

I'm not sure how much Crossbreed would be able to help you on this. I'm not sure if they have more information from the USPS than you would via the tracking number. Best of luck.

Rogerthat,

I asked the office staff if your situation sounded familiar to them and they said yes, they knew of it and were getting ready to follow up and so we looked into it.

I personally double checked the order and it was sent to the "ship to" address that you provided.

The tracking number says undeliverable as addressed, not sure why that is but we did copy exactly what you provided.

If you would like to PM the "ship to" address that it was to go to so I can compare that to what was on your order and what we shipped to, I'd be glad to verify it

If it was undeliverable, it is likely on it's way back to us.

Thanks, I will also cc this to you via email

#288 ·
The Post Office saying it is undeliverable is VERY common... I have had this happen 4 times now. The address is the same address they send my mail too, yet they can't seem to get my UPS package to that address. I sure wish UPS would STOP sending packages to the POST OFFICE!!! THE POST OFFICE SUCKS! What a waste of tax payer money!:1581::icon_mecker:

looks like I got everything cleared up.. The holster is on the way back to crossbreed in missouri. Long story short it was an error by the postal office. I just wanted to clear up crossbreed holsters name from any blame. They did what they were supposed to do. Looking forward to getting my holster though. Waited 2 weeks for it, probably goin to have to wait another... but it'll be worth it in the end.. better late than never

Our Bandit Leather & Terry Savanich

Concerning 'our Bandit Leather Crafters' & Terry Savanich...

I operate The Bull Speaks!, a blog out of Mobile, AL.

Some time back I ordered one of Terry's half-flap designs for my then new "Ruger New Vaquero". (My 'everyday' carry piece, though I carry it in a pancake from Simply Rugged.) It is a marvel, one of my prized possessions. Being very proud of it, I wrote a piece praising Terry's work. About a year later I began getting comments about late work or no delivery at all. I contacted Terry and got the story about an illness. Being a disabled Vet myself, I understood.

Over time, though, things continued to go down hill & Terry simply refused to reply to me or anyone else.

This prompted me to write another article urging folks to contact the BBB in Terry's state. Many folks wrote in with their stories. Some have contacted the Attorney-General in that state and have now received their product. (Some may have got a refund, I'm not sure.)

Sadly, there was a recent database meltdown on my blog so all of those comments are lost. It is up and running again and I have re-posted my last on Terry. If you have any info on how to contact Terry, or the Attorney-General, please go there and make comment so that others may find relief.

I feel really bad that I praised this guy so much and others got taken. Reckon I was just a lucky one. (or got taken because he knew I would post stuff about his work). If anyone here ordered on my recommendation, let me sincerely apologize right here. I feel like a heel...

Bull, out.

Contacting Kellogg Custom Leather

I've emailed Kellogg twice (I'm interested in a Megan Magnum) and not received a response. There's no phone number on the site.

Are these people out of business? womensholsters.com has also disappeared.

When I was in the process of buying my P250, which turned out to not be right for me, both these sites were active and emails were responded to. Are women no longer being catered to all that well? I've poked at other holster makers' sites and not had any success. For now, I'm going to try a holster from Tucker and see how it works out; but I'm still hopeful I can get ahold of Kellogg at some point and/or find someone else who makes womens' holsters specifically that will meet my need for an LH low-riding IWB that is designed for womens' hips and will fit a PPS 9mm.

Our Bandit Leather & Terry Savanich

Currently at The Ohio Attorney General's 'Consumer Division' there are 8 total complaints which have been filed against Our Bandit Leather for Non-Delivery of Product. One of the 8 was resolved back in May of '09 . . . 5 are showing 'pending' and 2 are blank as far as any info on where they stand.

The Ohio A/G contacted Terry Savanich in regards to my complaint about the non-delivery of a custom leather rig ($291) I ordered in Jan '08.

Terry Savanich answered the complaint by saying that I was 'nasty' and 'demanding' to him and therefore I wouldn't get my order until he has finished and shipped all the orders to those customers who have kept their mouths 'shut' . . . patiently waited quietly and have been 'understanding'. The only other option is a 'refund' but it would have to be done in 'payments' as Terry could afford them due to all the money still owed from his illness.

I phoned Anne Davis (Specialist) at the Consumer Division of the Ohio A/G and talked (at length) with her regarding the situation this last Tuesday. She said that she would contact Terry Savanich via phone and get back to me. I asked her if she could 'speak' to Terry about 'ALL' 7 of us who are still awaiting for the Ohio A/G to provide some 'assistance' in this matter. Anne Davis said she would give it her best shot.

I am currently awaiting the lastest info back from Terry (thru Anne Davis . . .of the Ohio A/G). They have been very pleasant to work with and willing to listen and discuss even via phone. I had a fruitful conversation with Anne on Tuesday and would recommend any others who have been 'bad mouthed' and 'ignored' by Terry to call and let her know just 'who' has been the nasty and demanding character in 'this' comedy of errors!

Online 'Complaints' have been filed at SpeakOutOhio (Consumer Complaint Form) and also at the Internet Crime Complaint Center or IC3 (google them) . . . (Complaint Referral Form). I would highly recommend you file also if you have an over due order and are still waiting!

Rafter S Gunleather

So I placed an order with them back in April, they have not responded to a single email or answered a phone call. I noticed their website says something about thanks for being patient while our machine was broken.

After placing my order I heard that customers have had problems with them before...anybody heard from them lately?

Our Bandit Leather/Terry Savanich

Update on actions by Ohio A/G!: I called the other day to check on the progress of my complaint against Terry/Gail Savanich and Our Bandit Leather (My issue a $291 Jan '08 pre-paid missing holster(s) order.) . . . I got a call back from a Monica Gregory who told me that she/her department had taken over my complaint. She mentioned the vast number of 'other' identical complaints against them and the lack of action repeatedly by Terry/Gail Savanich to do much of 'anything' about them and that the A/G was now moving on to 'other options' they have available to them. More to come . . . !

File a complaint info: Easy 'online' complaint forms at SpeakOutOhio and look under "Consumer' Division. Also complaints can be filed with the online crime folks at Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) | Home . . . . if you are missing something you paid Terry for but never got!

I have also not received my paid for holster with our bandit leather. I have filed a complaint with both the ohio attorney general and the internet crime center. The nerve of Terry Savanich to say no refund was posted on site. I didnt realize that your money could be taken with no product delivered and no refund given in that circumstance. I believe that is commonly called theft.

My wife ordered a Cell Phone Fanny Pack from CCW Supply on November 11, 2009. To date we have not received the product in spite of a follow up email. She tried to reach them by phone and left a call back number, then today the phone number is no longer a working number.
Our credit card was charged on November 11th, but no response to our attempts at contact either by email or telephone.

Good leather but........

I've not heard on my paid order since placing it 11 months ago. Now, the wait is not my concern, it's the lack of response to inquiries by email and by phone. Heck, I don't know if my order is lost, or what the story is. Bulman doesn't answer the phone or respond to emails within "2 or 3 days" as promised on the website. Like I said, I'm not concerned with a long wait if I know I haven't been waiting in vain, and lost my money to boot.

I also have two holsters pending with Terry Savanich, the first ordered and paid for 6/08. He is into me for $171.00.

I've just completed the Ohio AG Complaint form and have received confirmation from them. I do have some documentation that may help.

I note that Terry's partner (I call him that, a friend anyway) Walt Savage is selling Terry's holsters once again on eBay. I believe his seller name is 1974recon. Just do a search for "flap holster" in Sporting Goods and you will recognize the photo in the listing from the Our Bandit website. I pointed this out to the AG in my complaint.

As I used paypal to pay for both holsters, payment was run through Walt's paypal account.

Anyway, seeing that listing was the last straw and I decided to do more than I've done. That is what led me here after a Google search. Thanks for the links. Now there are 9 complaints.

Our Bandit Leather

I called Monica Gregory at the Ohio A/G and left a msg asking, "What's up since your last letter a month ago?" I got an email back from her with a new offer of settlement from Terry . . .

'Accept (another) promised delivery within 30 days 'or' a total refund (all $291) within 30 days.

I opted for my cash back as my veteran's disability 'health' over the past few years has robbed 'much' of my ability to walk and so 'now' his holster(s) are not of much use with 'wheelchair' looking to be 'much' sooner than later.

And . . . After two years . . . I just don't 'have' another 'month' to wait for my order . . . or another 'promise' to believe unfortunately.

Terry's last remark was that he believed that my taking the cash back instead of him making the holster was the 'best' idea also . . . because, 'I probably wouldn't appreciate it (his work) anyway.'

Latest from Ohio A/G is . . . .
The Check's In The Mail !

I will post again if/when anything actually 'happens'.
