    Alessi question

Yesterday an Alessi pocket holster for my PPK arrived in the mail. The fit is perfect but I am finding that the holster comes along with the PPK when I try and draw... every time! What can I do to ensure that the PPK is drawn and doesn't bring the Alessi along with it? tx!

Start with one sheet of wax paper and leave it for an hour or two then check it drawing several times. I would be careful how long you leave it in since it is a pocket holster and will likely free up quickly, at least quicker than an iwb/owb holster.

The holster is very new as you just got it so drawing your handgun 50-100 times will help losen it up as well.

When I got my new Don Hume H721OT it was too tight. I placed it (checked for unloaded status) in a ziploc baggie then in the holster. I did that overnight & my problem was solved.

If it has a leather tab that is meant to snag on the lip of the pocket upon drawing, make sure to use that feature. Not all pocket holsters will passively give up the weapon, and are meant to be hooked or snagged to facilitate the draw.

I bought a K&D Cochise Defender IWB for my S&W 642 that was boned a bit tight above the cylinder. I resolved it easily by using a brass dowel and a block of hardwood. I tapped the tight area from the inside out until it gave-up the revolved without a fight.

P.S. Love the holster, the belt clips adjustment and their spacing.

I used to carry my G17 in one of the Talon II+ Alessi holsters. The thing would pop out about 30% of the time when I drew as well. I had to make sure the clip was really grabbing something like the seam under the beltline or something in order to make sure it stayed.

I finally went to a couple different IWB types. One by Rusty Sherrick (c-rusty.com) and another by Bob Durbin. Rusty is based around Harrisburg, PA and Durbin in near Dansville, NY. They both utilize straps to secure the holster to a belt. I have not had that issue since.
