    Belt Question?

I hope this hasn't been covered a million times already. I have searched but not really found exactly what I was looking for. I have been looking at the Wilderness Instructor belts as well as the 5.11 Tactical belts. I was looking for some comparisons between the two belts. Is one stiffer than the other? How have they held up over time? Both seem to get good reviews on this forum, but I was looking for advantages or disadvantages of each one. Also, where are the best places to purchase each? I was interested in the coyote color, but I haven't seen very many pictures of it (except for tiny pics). Is it a brown color, or more of a desert tan? Thanks.

In a nutshell; the Wilderness belt is the original. It is made in right here in the U.S and is probably the set benchmark for which all the copies only hope to attain.

Haven't ever used the 5.11, but if it's like all other Royal Robbins products, it is probably made in some third world country, sweat shop (most likely China) hence the lower price. At best, it is maybe only as good as the original Wilderness.

Were only talking a few bucks price difference here. The price of a happy meal basically, to support a U.S. made product and not too mention the original designer.

And to answer your question, the Wilderness belt I have been using on and off for the last 6 years, does as it's supposed to and is holding up great!

Training means learning the rules. Experience means learning the exceptions.

I have the Wilderness belt and absolutely LOVE IT !!!!!! The color is darker than desert tan but lighter than brown ....it's like the color you would get mixing the 2 together ...if that helps ????????

I have a Wilderness Instructor with the CSM insert that holds my P220 and P226 in an OWB holster very nicely for my IDPA matches.

I've got two Wilderness belts ( one black, one tan ) and love them. Good choice in going with the Wilderness belts.

Wilderness belts are great. BUT...if you wanna look "normal", try a heavy duty leather 1 1/2" leather belt from any of the major manufacturers.
