    Kahr PM9 Pocket Holster....Critique

Just got a mold from Duncan's for the Kahr PM9 and made up a holster for it. This holster is designed to be somewhat small for use in jeans. It has hooks front and rear, which is how I have been making most of my pocket holsters, to keep it in the pocket when the gun is drawn.

I angled the gun to minimize the amount of grip that sticks out away from the leg and prints.

What do you think? Look good or do I need to change things?

I'm thinking about another version slightly larger front and rear to stabilize the gun in dockers and cargo pants.

My only suggestion as of now would be to have the trigger-guard covered more. Other than that, I like it.

If possible I may try to do that. The hardest part is making sure a person can get a full grip on the gun, and to make sure the magazine release is not covered.

Send a complimentary one to me and I'll provide FREE feedback.
I'd also like something to fit in the LARGE pockets typical of jackets.

Might send you one for a reduced price....

I'm working on a couple of holsters for a member of another forum for his jacket pockets. He's getting a couple of different widths to use in a couple different coat pockets.

Nice work on your holster. I'm not sure that I would feel comfortable with the gun coming out without the holster...perhaps, it needs a bigger hook...OMO

Much better than anything I could make...keep working at it.

I removed the extended mag from the PM9 today with a hacksaw to show what it would really look like in the pocket. Who would ever carry a little gun like the PM9 with the extended mag, especially in the pocket?

MOST POCKET HOLSTER HAVE A u SHAPED HOOK ON THEM, SOME MORE THAN OTHERS, THIS HOOK PORTION GRABS THE LIP OF THE POCKET AND KEEPS THE HOLSTER IN THE POCKET INSTEAD OF COMING OUT WITH THE GUN. LOOK AT OTHER DESIGNS AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT HE MEANS. BTW, I agree with him, sorry for the caps, not shouting just wasn't paying attention and to lazy to retype!

I wouldn't say "most" have a hook. Some do.

Then there's the "rough out" variants that simply have a textured exterior that offers more friction against the inside of the pocket than the holster does against the gun. This holster clearly looks like this variety.

I think the amount of coverage is just fine. The gap is well back from the trigger and is really too small for anything to get inside and cause problems, especially if you don't put anything else in the same pocket as the holstered gun.

When I pocket carry and am wearing pants with larger pockets, I'll swap in the extended (7rnd) mag. It all depends on the size and shape of the pocket.

I understand what you are saying. The hooks on the holsters that I have been making do keep the holster in the pocket.

My goal is to produce a product that is as small as possible, while still leaving the holster in the pocket when drawn.

I guess what confused me was the other poster saying he did not want the gun coming out without holster and that it needed a larger hook.
