I wore a Milt Sparks Summer Special for years until they came out with their VM2, which now I've worn for years. Never worn a quality holster out.

Leather lasts for a long time. It is pretty much indestructable under normal use conditions. Getting a lether holster wet will not harm it if you give a warm place to dry out. Should you lose retention it is easy to re- bone (Fitting) the holster to your weapon. I prefer fully lined holsters, because they cause far less damage to the finish on your weapon. I have A leather shoulder holsster that was carried through threee tours of Viet Nam and is still in good shape today hey the 40 yrs ago gang. Crap I'm getting old.

Two years with a Brommeland Maxcon. Looks as new as the day I got it and I wear it everyday, sweat and everything. The best I've ever seen.

I've been beating the crap out of a Milt Sparks VM-II for three years and it has just gotten more comfortable. I have several other premium custom made holsters that I've started to work into the mix, but not because I've had to. I just like a change now and then. A well used and taken care of premium custom holster will go for several years at least.
