    M-29 shoulder holster(s) help.

I'm hoping that anyone could assist me in finding a shoulder holster for my S&W M-29 Mountain Gun,4 in. and my S&W M-58, 4 in.

I'm looking for a Leather, VERTICAL shoulder holster.

This is for hunting/hiking not 'movie fantacy/ T.V.drama/ect.....'

I've looked at the Galco but looks like it would not be that 'stable'.

I have very limited use with shoulder holsters. A original 'Jack Ass' and a Mitch Rosen Express for my Colt Govt. 5 in.

The Rosen holster is FAR superior to that old Jack Ass but a 1911 is not a Smith N frame.

    Any help would be great!

Take a look at the Bianchi X-15. I recently got one, but have not used it enough to say anything good or bad about comfort. I haven't noticed any discomfort the little I've worn mine.

What I do like is the fact it has an open front. There is a U-shaped piece of spring steel that holds the gun in the holster. To draw, you pull straight forward (as opposed to up). The gun pops free of the holster and voila--very fast draw.

    YMMV,

    Thanks Herknav,

    You jogged my memory bank.

My old 1st SGT. uses and really likes the X-15 for his 1911.

I should have stated earlier, 'security over speed'. Thats why I was interested in the Galco (strap across the front of the holster).

I'll check out the X-15. It may be 'the one'.

Ditto on the Biachi X-15...been carrying M29 in woods for years with this rig.
