Smartcarry & Thunderwear the same?
I have an older Thunderwear that I use sometimes. And noticed a lot of posts about the Smartcarry. When I first visited they're webpage I thought they were the same company, but now I am not so sure. The holsters look very similar, in fact it's hard to see a difference.
Does anyone know if it's the same company?

After more research both are made in the same state not factory. I did not bother finding the address of the factories until spensergig's post.
I own a SmartCarry and use it almost everyday.
Different companies sell them but the are both made at the same factory in Florida.
I think that Smartcarry makes Thunderwear.

They are NOT the same
You'll make Charlie VERY upset if you say they are.
They are not made in the same factory, and there are noticable differences in the design and construction.
There might have been a connection between the two companies at one time, but it's long gone if it ever existed.

I recall being told that there was a lawsuit involving these products some years ago.
I bought one from the company that is at the MA/NH gun shows. He originally lived in both FL and NY and now is in NY only.
When I went to a gun-show in Ft Lauderdale many years ago, I saw the other company and admittedly confused the two.
So I think that they are competitors. No idea who has the better product.

I have both and no, they are definately not the same. I much prefer SmartCarry's material, the way the gun pouch and magazine pouch are sized differently and the large rear pocket in mine is a great place to hide my loot... I use my SmartCarry when I travel and can't carry a weapon just for that feature.

They are the same in idea but not design and as others have said I believe that there is a connection somewhere between the two, or atleast there used to be. I have a smart carry and Charlie is a great guy to deal with. And you can't beat their 'if you don't like it send it back for a refund' policy.

I just ordered a Smartcarry for my 2 inch sp101. I'll post a review on it after I've tried it awhile.
