YOU KNOW WHAT I JUST DID??? I ordered a Milt Sparks 55BN holster!
This is a discussion on YOU KNOW WHAT I JUST DID??? I ordered a Milt Sparks 55BN holster! within the Defensive Carry Holsters & Carry Options forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I've always wanted a Milt Sparks holster. And, after all my praise of Kydex holsters, guess what this one is? Right! Black leather.

Congratulations. My wife just got her holster from Milt Sparks for her snub nose S&W .38. Excellent leather and very well made. She had to wait about the same time. She also got a belt that is also excellent. Did you get one. If not think about it so it will be ready when your holster is.

Hmmm, a belt is a good thought. I'll check the prices, but I bought a Ted Blocker 1-1/2" gun belt for about $40 and it has really been a good belt, esp. for the price. But wear and tear has left its mark and maybe it's time for another.

They make some great holsters. My SIG 239 rides in one. Well worth the wait!

I've got two Milt Sparks rigs (had to raid my mad money to get 'em) and I don't know how I got along with all the other garbage I've tried over the years. About the belt, make sure you get that from them too, you won't find anything in stores that will support the holster/gun the way it should. BTW, when you get the whole rig, it's going to be real stiff at first, and you may have to work to slide the holster on the belt, but they break in real quick.

Thanks to everyone for their reassurring comments. When it arrives, I'll have to break the thing in, and figure out a way to keep the black polish off of my clothes and keep it from going squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak with every step. You know how hard it is to sneak something out of the refrigerator when your holster squeaks?

Maybe - I'm not sayin'
....However Fist makes a hybrid that is a Kydex inner bonded to a beautiful leather outer. Some would say the best of both worlds. Then again, others might wonder why anyone would want to do that to a perfectly good leather holster.

Fine leather holsters are a work of functional art.
Leather form fits itself to the wearer & the pistol.
It becomes "second skin" - plus its "All Natural"
Can you tell I LOVE fine leather holsters?
I can tell, I can tell!!! Well mine will be all natural if they can find a cow with a bright, black hide.

Sort of a long wait but, worth waiting for.
Thanks, I will, yes it is, yes it is.

OH NO!
I hadn't thought about that! Oh well, I can sell a car or something else non-essential.

I've had one squeaky leather holster. The cure was to rub a candle on the edges of the belt where the belt touches the holster slots/straps/loops. I'm sure you'll get some other suggestions here.
I have an HR-LTD from Sparks that is very similar to the VM-II. Good holster - I'm sure you'll be pleased. I also have a Sparks belt and a Ted Blocker belt. The Sparks product is about twice as thick.

For what it's worth (and for future reference) Sparks does have "two dealers", Lightning Arms and Alan Yoast. They typically keep a decent amount of holsters in stock. I have two VM-II's and bought each of them separately from Alan. From the time I placed the order with him to the time I received the holster was less than a week. I'm told Lighting Arms is equally fast, though I've not used them yet. I have exchanged a few e-mails with them and found that to be a good experience.

That's odd, my Ted Blocker belt is so thick that most acessories won't fit it, like cell phone holders, some magazine pouches. Mines a "double" thick gun belt, could it be you got a dress belt version in the Blocker?
