    Sob 1911?

Anybody ever try a SOB carry with a full-size 1911? I like SOB on smaller guns, and am thinking of getting a 1911 holster for SOB. Anyone do that successfully (I mean can you stand it for any length of time?)

Thats a lot of gun for SOB. You also have to remember the saftey getting knocked off. I have carried a 5'' 1911 most of my adult life and would recomend IWB or OWB. especially if your driveing a lot. Also SOB is slower and affects your initial point of aim.

I think I've seen a picture of Lima wearing one. Did you try using the search engine? There have been many discussions on the SOB holsters....lots of good reading to catch up on!

I have tried a SOB with a High Power (pain, agony and dispair), long story short go with a strong side hoster that will ride hi. It is also much faster and by far more easy on the body.

I have a blackhawk check six that I use a lot for my 5" 1911. It is comfortable to carry and I can draw while seated but leaning slightly forward. It is not uncomfortable at all, even when seated for extended periods. Only thing I noticed is depending on cover garment it can print much easier then any other type of holster. Its also not the easiest to reholster one handed.

    Thumbs down

Had a Galco SOB holster and practically gave it away. Hard to put on, hard to draw and reholster, prints rather well, uncomfortable when driving and downright dangerous due to sweeping whoever is to your right or left. Also slow to bring on target. Highly recommend another style, be it IWB or OWB.

Tried SOB and switched very quickly to strong side carry. Much less uncomfortable, more secure, and quicker to hand.
