I remember clearly in my OH CCW class that the law requires the weapon be in a holster that covers the trigger. I would try going without. Depending on the gun, a Desantis Nemesis is about as thin a holster as you can find-I'll stash my P3AT appendix carry or Mexican- as long as its in the Nemesis... a Remora from what I've read might be a good option for you.

+1 on the Remora. Less than $30, covers the trigger, and it is grippy so it shouldn't fall from your waist.
