    Carhartt leather?

Anyone know of anyone who uses Carhartt belts as their "gun belt?" I've heard a lot of good things about their Leather and Web belt and was wondering if anyone actively uses this one or any of their belts. Thanks!

From the picture it appears to be a nice quality thick leather belt....but only one layer. I bet their belts are great for holding up pants, but I wouldn't want to carry anything medium or full size with less than the real deal. There's lots of discussions and good reading on belts around here - a search will turn up a lot of results.

I tried one once. A great belt; but, it isn't a gun belt, and it softens right up after wearing it a few times. I bought the dual bullhide from the Beltman and have been very happy with it.

I've been using a Carhartt leather belt for OWB and IWB carry for several years now. My EDC is a stainless 4.25" 1911, sometimes a Glock 22. I used to carry a Kahr K40, and when I'm off the pavement I carry a 4" M66 or a 5.5" Bisley Blackhawk or a 3.75" Birdshead Vaquero...the later 2 in .45 Colt. There's a lot of weight in any one of those guns, and the belt works fine. And as a bonus, it's comfortable. I don't feel like I've been wearing a Sam Browne for 14 or 16 hours a day.

Holster selection has a lot to do with how well a belt works. IWB and Paddle holsters don't require as much belt as a belt mounted OWB holster will.

I bought one of those leather and web belts (model #A159 in the link) based on a recommendation on one of these boards, and have not been disappointed. It's a bit too wide for some pants (dockers type) but fine for most jeans.

It's not as stiff as my beltman belts, but is completely adequate for carrying my G19 or PM9 IWB in a CTAC or OWB with a paddle.
