Rule #1: A gun is always loaded. If you do it when it is unloaded, you will do it when it is loaded.

When I had a swock (S&W Sigma) I would always store it in the holster, even when it was next to my bed. I didn't feel comfortable with the possiblity of something grabbing the trigger and it going boom. The gun was designed for a holster, it is perfectly safe as long as you use it as designed. A 1911 stuck in waistband is not suggested but there are two external safeties to protect the user, none in the Glock.

Glock , revolver, S/A whatever, I would never carry in waistband without a hoster... I do know some who do and some are LEO. But with that said, I too think it sends a bad signal to a newbie that if they can do it so can I. ... Point being that can't, or at least shouldnt.

It goes without saying that Mexican carrying a Glock is a good way to blow your weewee off. Apparently people are doing it, though, because you see Clip Draws for Glocks all over the place.

I finally worked up the nerve to try carrying one IWB...I don't think I could stick a loaded and hot weapon down my pants with the trigger exposed like that.

Hey Gents, do you realize that we ALL AGREE on this one?!? For a thug to Mexican Carry a GLOCK is stupid. For an "instructor"...it's grounds for dismissal, a law suit & a free membership to the American Civil Liberties Union. I would walk out of a class taught by such a Hamster Brain, refund or not.

No. What is the point?! It is irresponsible & a risk to yourself and people around you. The guy has been doing that for 20 years?! He needs to wizen up and perhaps be a little more educated in proper gun safety measures or realize that that license to teach that class could be revoked.

That's like a driving instructor teaching driving lessons to people while he is intoxicated and state that he's never been in an accident or arrested while drinking. He is demonstrating a potentially dangerous and fatal was of operating a tool that can potentially kill someone.

Bad form man. That would make me nervous, esp if he believes that is safe. Who knows what else he may deem safe.

My opinion - sounds like a 40 caliber vasectomy waiting to happen!

That is just plain stupid! Even if one was to argue that the instructor through his vast experience was careful enough to prevent a ND/AD, he is setting a very bad example for his students and may well be the cause of one of them accidently shooting themselves. BAD for him!

Hey thanks guys, I definitely thought I was in the right on this one. In his defense, he never tells any of our students to do this or lets them see him doing it, but I guess it's his personal preference...you guys bear out all the points that I made, to each there own I guess...

A guy at work was carrying his Glock sans holster in a pair of sweat pants while he was in a video store. He bent over to reach a movie on a lower shelf and his pistol slipped below his waist band. When he stood up it slipped lower and with each step lower still. It ended up between his legs at his crotch. Picture him going to the counter to ask the salesperson the location of the rest room while walking like he had just dropped a load in his pants. I sold him an Uncle Mike's IWB holster the next day. After I finally stopped laughing at him.

    ClipDraw

Although my primary carry method is a SmartCarry holster I also have a CLIPDRAW...For Secure Carry Without a Holster attachment so that I can carry without a holster while driving. The trigger and guard are nicely tucked underneath the belt. I think that this is an acceptable holster-less carry.

I forgot all about the Clipdraw. I sliced my finger to the bone doing a fast draw from one on a Commander!
