Concerning the durability of lacing. The calfskin lace does wear fairly easily.

I only lace with Kangaroo hide lace these days & it's very tough stuff and wears like iron. The very best bull-whips are plaited from Kangaroo.

BTW: That looks like a double cordovan lacing stitch on this holster & belt. That's I think 7" of lace for every one inch of finished edge.
That's a lot of leather lace used on this piece of work.
Yes, I think it is called a mexican double loop stich ( IIRC ) and it took an awful lot of lace for the belt and holster, I did a carving on a wallet for my wife last year and stiched it as such, man !! I thought I'd never finish lace stiching that wallet, it is alot of work to say the least.

Yep, Rhome. All names are correct.
    You are Correct~o~mondo...as usual.

There is a Single Loop Stitch - A Double Loop - or often called a Single, Double, or even Triple Mexican Loop (also called a Double or Triple Cordovan).

Absolutely stunning, anyone wearing this outfit would surely be envied at any bbq and scorned at a PETA meeting.

Umm, Qk? I believe the final price was listed as "Reserve not met." I'm not saying it wouldn't be worth more to some folks but there is a good bit of wear in places. I'm curious what the seller's reserve price was.

    Nice rig,

Thanks for sharing those pics. Always liked the fancy rigs the good guys wore in the 50's TV shows I used to watch.

    Understated, it's not.
