For me it is leather only. Just love the feel and look of a fine hand crafted leather holster.

Leather holsters look great, especially the ones made by the true craftsmen, but for me holsters are all about function so all my holsters are made from kydex.

The answer is ...... YES. Both have thier place and wear 'em both. My 'most used' holster lately has been my MTAC, which has both.

    Plastic Guns for Plastic Holsters.

I prefer leather, although I do have two "plastic" holsters. I don't use them very much. In fact I don't think I've used my two plastic holsters in over a year.

Leather is more comfortable and I like old world craftsmanship.

    I of course like leather.

I had a customer provide a couple kydex moldings for my primary carry gun so I might just try a half and half just for fun. I made him a half and half but I don't need another new thing to learn how to do.

Main use/choice = leather, but both have their place. For me, its kydex for pocket holsters, and leather for anything on my belt.

Unknown what the industry produces most of. Wouldn't surprise me if more Kydex were made, these days, than leather.

For me, though, the choice is simple. Nothing beats a well-designed leather holster. I have found them to have better fit and function, on average. I've used a few Kydex and still have one, but it doesn't compare to leather. YMMV.

I use both. My Taurus has lived in leather or molded nylon all of its life. My 1911 has been on my hip in Kydex for a year or so.

The Kydex that I use for my 1911 is a Comp-Tac paddle holster, and after chasing my dog through wet grass the other day, I developed a new found respect for the material.

All leather for me. I find kydex uncomfortable. Leather is a work of art (& much more comfortable).

IWB, the Crossbreed is great, best of both.

    OWB, I prefer leather.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.
