Favorite pocket holster for your S&W J frame

Just picked up a new S&W 642 and now I'm thinking about which pocket holster I should get for it. I've got a Mika pocket holster for my SP101 and like it. Have a K Rat for my Kel tec. Just curious about what you might like best for pocket carry of your J Frame wheel gun.

    Thanks.

I'm very pleased with my Mika, and would recommend that you stay with the Mika.

Kramer...you'll never use a generic bag holster again.

You can't go wrong with a Mika holster. I have had good luck with the Desantis Nemesis pocket holsters - they really do work as advertised.

I carried a S&W 442 Airweight in a "Pocket Softy" holster by Mitch Rosen, for a decade, and the holster was still in excellent condition when I sold it despite daily carry during all that time. Great fit and function, never pulled out of the pocket, good comfort and concealment. So long as your pants are sufficiently loose to support a revolver in the pocket (ie, via accordion-style cargo pockets), it's a great way to go.

I'd be tempted to switch allegience from the Mika to the Kramer - if only they'd offer the Kramer for $18.95.

Looks like Mika is the leader at this time. THANKS !! Ordered one for my wife and one for myself. She is still trying to decide what belt holster she wants for her SW638. She is not too keen on IWB at the moment. Pocket carry will be a good starting point.

Well, it certainly is more popluar. But it depends on what you're looking for, in a holster.

    FIST-

I had used a leather one previously. One day the gun fell out of my pocket while sitting in a Doctor's Office.

The leather had stretched from age and lost all of it's retention.

    No more leather for me.

(I was the only one in the waiting room, so no issues with getting caught)

I carry a Kramer as well. IMO, relatively inexpensive for a lifetime holster.

Do check out belly bands for your wife. In reading through the threads, I see that they are particularly popular and comfortable for women.

I use one myself for carry at church where extreme concealment is a must. I like it a lot - even though it's not my favorite way to carry.

Rosen PSF here. It certainly is expensive but I have never had the holster pull out of the pocket. That little black tab keeps it locked down.
