Unusual carry scenario - need advice on deep concealment holster

Guys - I'm looking for an ultra deep concealment holster for fishing & other outdoor activities where there's alot of bending over & awkward movements (usually will be wearing cargo shorts). I recently bought a Kahr PM9 mini-9mm for the application. There are so many experienced CC guys here ... I'd love to get some opinions as to the best method of concealed carry. I'm thinking about the Smartcarry system & as it might be a good option for active wear (also considering OWB ... as the first holster I bought was a pocket type & as small as the gun is, it is just too big for comfortable pocket carry - it prints way too much). IWB would likely be uncomfortable due to the active nature of what I'll be using it for.

Thanks for your help & advice ...

Regarding SmartCarry, my recommendation is to give Charlie a call to get the right size. Try it. IIRC, he has a 60 day no excuse return policy. Tell him about your concerns.

Smartcarry, or a keltec can disappear pretty easily.

Smart Carry might be the ticket, if pocket carry didn't work. If you have a cover garment like an loose fitting or untucked shirt or a vest, IWB should work out with a quality holster. Take a look at the M Tac by CompTac or a Crossbreed.

    Cool

Picked up a 'Thunderwear' last weekend at a gun show. Great holster.
Look forward to being able to use it when I have the need for 'deep carry'.

I usually wear cargo pants/shorts when I pocket carry my PM9. I have no issues with printing. I use a PCS Harpoon or HBE Two Point. You may want to consider giving pocket carry another shot using a different holster. With pocket carry, you probably wouldn't have to worry as much about having your gun fall out during the activities you described.

I think you're right ... I may have to check out another pocket holster - perhaps one out of thin leather or kydex.

I usually have my Kimber with me, but for those days I just want a small well-concealed weapon, I take my KelTec P-3AT in a Fist kydex pocket holster. In suit pants, you'd never know it's there...

I use a SmartCarry 24/7. I have one for my KelTec P-11, which I think is about the same size as your gun, and also for my .380 P3-AT. I have zero printing with jeans, dress slacks, or shorts. One advantage also is the system is built to allow you to carry a spare mag. I need deep concealment, but quick access whether sitting, standing, or driving, for my employment. I also use them when I'm out camping, hunting, recreation, etc. I've also sewn seams into each holster for each weapon to stay exactly where I want it to be. These holsters are so comfortable that I sometimes forget that I'm carrying. Call Charlie and tell him what your needs are and he'll get you what you need.

I wear Lee cargo shorts or avirex with a printed hawain shirt or loose fitting tank top. I carry a Glock 23 IWB and have no problems bending stooping or walking or twisting..

I've been wearing the Thunderwear rig for about 2 months now for my SP101. Very comfortable to wear and you do forget that you are wearing it. The only drawback I see with these fabric holsters is that if you have a gun with a hammer, you are going to experience some draw resistance, with the hammer occasionally hanging up in the fabric. Not all the time...but sometimes. And who knows when that time will be? It does takes some practice to be able to draw quickly and that worries me sometimes. I still wear it, but am considering an IWB leather holster in the future.

I picked up some cargo shorts from Sam's Club where the cargo pockets are over the main front pockets which make for a sort of false front. My PM9 in a DeSantis Super Fly holster disappears behind the cargo pocket. The combination is comfortable and very discreet.
