    MTAC and Maxcon V

I have carried my G23 in my Maxcon V for awhile now and it is very comfortable. I recently received my MTAC to carry my G27 which will also fit my G23 and 19. I also ordered the spare body for my G30.

But I must say that after wearing my G23 in my MTAC for a few days, it is actually MORE comfortable than my Maxcon. I didn't think that it would be possible. And wearing the 27 is that much more comfortable.

This is only my opinion, ofcourse. Others may disagree. For some reason the soft "flat" backing of the MTAC is very comfortable. Plus, it has already started to mold to my body at 3:30.

While the Maxcon is very comfy, the way the part of the holster that rides against the body is cut doesn't quite match up to the MTAC.

Before anyone asks, no, I am not selling my Maxcon. Sorry.

I just wanted to share my experience with these holsters. I am still waiting for my VMII for my G27 which should be arriving in August. I'll put her up against my MTAC and see which is more comfy. My holster bag is getting very full. I think that I have more holsters than my wife has shoes.

I am a VERY big fan of the Max-Con but I can see how you like the MTAC better. I had one for my P30 at one time and liked it but just didn't like the Kydex wear it put on the gun. The backing was comfy, especially when it molded to my side. IIRC, exactlymypoint had the same opinion of the two holsters.

I like generally use the MTAC over my VM-II ease of getting on and off. However, I have the one with the much wider clips and they seem to bend out easier. My buddy has a new one with the thinner and longer clips I like those better.

I prefer leather for all of my guns regardless of if they're fine steel tack drivers or basic combat tupperware. There's just something about the feel of kydex pressing against me that I don't care for - even if it's through an undershirt. That kydex is just too hard and uncomfortable for me, leather can mould to your body curves and actually give a little in the wayof cushioning.

I think kydex is great for those who prefer an all weather, no maintenance carry rig but it's just not something I can warm up to.... I currently own three MaxCon Vs among my leather holsters, they're my favorites by a long shot.

I agree. I had a CTAC which is all kydex. After awhile it became annoying. The MTAC is a kydex outer shell with leather against your body. As I already stated, IMO the leather on the back of the MTAC is more comfortable than the Maxcon.

Tucker is building a holster like the MTAC with the leather lined option, but they are more expensive.

Actually, if I'm wearing my MTAC its impossible to pull it out naturally because it's locked in too much. Apparently people complained about your problem, so they overcompensated. I've emailed them twice in the last 2-3 weeks with no reply, but I'm told you get great service over the phone, so I'm calling tomorrow.

If the MTAC is off, it doesn't hold the pistol in at all, but that's the way its meant to work, if I'm not mistaken.
