DIY Holster... Boy I miscalculated this one.

I hate it when I draw up a pattern, cut leather, stitch it up, and don't realize until I'm ready to mold that... I made it too long!

Some quick work with the knife and dremel, and I made a slight... uh, modification...



I was going for something more like this one I did for the M&P 9...



But obviously something went horribly wrong!

This is actually the first pattern I tried and cut leather on for the Glock... I actually set the unstitched leather aside for a few weeks because I came up with another pattern that turned out good, but I was hoping this one would be a winner. Oh well. I'll probably still use it!

Looks like you might have a good pattern for the Glock 17 instead. You should have sold that one and started again. Still looks good though. Nice work.

That looks great - where do you get your leather from - Tandy or one of the big shops?

I use Tandy. Pretty hit-or-miss on finding a quality hide, but this is the last holster I got out of a good hide. The latest one I'm using leaves a bit to be desired. I'd love to find a source for some better quality and more consistent leather.

This would definitely be a good G17 pattern. That's why I'm not getting rid of the pattern. I might want a G17 sometime down the road before mags are banned again!
