    New holster BLACK marks??

    Any way to avoid, lessen or eliminate the wicked black marks on the slide from a new holster?
    Of course, both commanders I have for it are stainless!.

    It is a Rafter shark rig, which is just beautiful.

    Have never had this problem with any of my many holsters but I'd assume that the dye need a little more time to dry or the sealant wasn't properly applied. Call them and see what they say!

    It's an occurance that happens from time to time. It has more to do with how the leather accepts the dye, than whether it dried. There are numerous variables that contribute to this sort of thing.

    What I do with a new holster, is use a silicone cloth to clean off the marks daily. They'll stop before too long. Keeping them cleaned off will make it easier and the silicone will help a little to keep it clean.

    Give the maker a call and see if it is normal or not. I'm sure they want to know and can give you the best answer.
