Barami hip grip

I have a S&W 642 & want to know if anyone has tried the Barami Hip Grip? I carry a P11 with a belt clip & it is invisable with a golf shirt. There are times that I would prefer to carry the S&W.

they also sell a clip for the 642...that might be an option for you.
but to answer your question...No...never tried one..as I use crimson trace grips.

I had the hip grips on a 642, made it nice to carry, not nice to shoot, I think if Iw were to go that route again, I'd add a Tyler T-Grip and a Hogue grip sleeve. I'd say that the only real draw back is that it's not being held securely, there's a lot of room between the gun and the tab of the grip that holds it on the waist band.

It's not like a clip where there's some tension holding it in place.

IIRC they do make the Clip Draw from J-Frames, that might be a better option.

A thick revolver cylinder against your skin with no protection is very uncomfortable. I'd stick with a good IWB holster.

My Brother uses nothing but the Barami "Hip Grip" on his J-Frame.

I tried it, and it has it's place, but I prefer a Holster. The Tyler T-Grip and the Barami make a good combo if you're going to go that route.

I have one, but do not think it is secure enough. The few times I wore it I was always concerned it would come out of my pants.

My hip grips are shelved since I just couldn't get used to carrying with them. I think the clipdraw is a better option and I may go that way if my Alessi APX doesn't work for me.

I wore a Charter Arms with the hip grip for a week while in Florida for vacation and I really liked it. For a secure ride you need to wear it appendix style with it in front of your hip bone. When it's there, the cylinder fits in the crease and was comfortable. It will shift some while you move, but that's a good thing because when you sit down you need a little movement to get it in the right comfort spot. I found as long as I had my shorts tightened then it was pretty stable. I liked wearing it there so much that I made a kydex holster for my PM9 so that I can wear it appendix style. Word of advice, use a stainless or nickel gun or else you risk lots of rust because of sweat.
