I would think any good holster for a 1911 pistol will work since the Taurus is a standard 1911 pattern.
The Taurus is a bit wider and doesn't fit in a holster for a 1911. Tried one that carries a Kimber and it didn't fit.
Not many holster makers make anything for any Taurus. The PT1911 is going to be worse, as not many agencies use a 1911, let alone the slightly wider Taurus. Good Luck.

Oops, did not know the Taurus is wider, I currently carry a PT1911SS in a Wild Bill's Summer Heat. It was a bit of a tight fit at first but that is common with his holsters.

I know alot of the Kimber 45's were built on a 9mm frame. (my TLE for one) You will have to go with a Springfield Loaded or Springfield TRP holster. I found this out while working at a gunstore from 05' to 07'.
Kid1911 I assume you mean a holster with a thumb break? If thats the case then I have found this company.

I hope that helps your quest.![]()
Oh yeah, they're really backlogged at the moment so it may take a while to get the leather.
Sixto,
wouldn't this be a close approximation?

I'm not really clear on the difference between a duty holster and the dedicated CCW holster.
Sorry if I'm not really clear on the details
Safariland carries duty rigs for Colt, Kimber, Springfield.
Best suggestion, contact their CS and tell them what you need.

Its close, but no cigar. A duty belt is going to be 2" or wider, this holster only works for 1 3/4" or smaller. Also, for duty use, you need to have some mechanical lock down to keep the holster clamped on the belt and in place. You also want an internal locking device to keep the gun in the holster, making it a level 2 as requested by the OP. This holster has none of that, it would be consider a level 1 because of the thumb break.![]()

Sixto,
Thanks man, I didn't know all that.![]()
I had thought that a level I was friction only, Level II was retention device ala thumb-break or rotating hood, and the Level III was twist and hood or thumb-break. I also didn't know about the belt width but that makes perfect sense to me.
That said, thanks again for getting me up to speed on the subject. And now back to your regularly scheduled topic.![]()
The holster needs to be at least level 2 w/a hood. I will have to try the holster for a Springfield loaded that another LEO has. Hope this will work.
I think maybe the Blackhawk Level 2 duty SERPA autolock may work. They also offer a Level 3 duty SERPA autolock, but not sure if you can get it for a 1911.
