Does anyone use a kydex OWB for a Ruger Sp101 with a 2 1/4" barrel or any revolver for that matter? I am thinking of getting a Comp-Tac belt holster for my Sp101 for occasional CCW use, but mostly to carry while hiking, camping, and other outdoors activities. Except for a few IWBs I have not seen many revolvers in kydex. Any thoughts? Thanks
I have kydex holsters for several of my autos but will always use leather for my revolvers. I'm not sure why but it just seems to be the civilized thing to do.

I too prefer leather for my Revolvers.
I just ordered a Kramer MSP Paddle in horsehide for my 2 1/4" Ruger SP101. With the LEO Discount it's not too bad. I really like the "easy on - easy off" feature of this Holster. I guess I could've gone with a Fobus Paddle, but it just doesn't seem as "classy".

I dont know about kydex but i have a don hume Jit that was like $20 and it works great. its a OWB
I figured most people would suggest leather. Kydex appealed to me because it is more weather resistant than leather.
I have looked at some nice leather owb from a few of the makers on this board and they look great; but was just curious on the kydex.
I do understand the preference for leather for revolvers. Such as kydex will never touch my S&W 19-3, blued and wood grips do not work for me with kydex. However stainless steel and rubber stocks like on the SP-101 does not bother me, go figure. I guess I will see what I finally decide or find.
I often carry a 642 or a 640 in a Fobus Paddle holster. I have done this for probably 10 years so don't bother to tell me what junk it is. They hold the guns securely and are easy to put on and remove.
I fairly recently purchased Fobus paddles for my two KTs. One is a P3AT and the other a P32.
They have worked fine. Although I have leather holsters by the top makers, except Alessi, I still carry the Fobus at times due to the convenience.
