Belt w/velcro questions.
I'm getting another belt soon and am considering having velcro sewn in. Does it add much to the thickness of the belt and is it noticeable? Will I have a hard time with my holsters that don't have v-clips (High Noon Split Decisions)? I recently bought a MTAC w/v-clips to tryout and Comp-Tac is sending me a strip of velcro with it that attaches via adhesive. Is this the better way to go in case velcro doesn't workout for me? Also, does the velcro eventually wear out before the belt?
Thanks for any input.

I have a C-TAC with the v-clips and their adhesive backed velcro strips. It works well for me, doesn't add much thickness to the belt. The only issue is that the velcro has worked loose in a couple of spots. I put new velcro on, and that helped for a while, then it started coming loose again. This is over the course of about a year, with daily wear, so I can live with it for now, but next time I will look into having it sewn on.

The nature of the beast with velcro is that over time it will become weaker and eventually not grab hardly at all. Having it sewed in would surely be more secure, but it will make replacing it much more difficult. If you do replace it make sure you use a industrial strength velcro, not stuff found at the fabric store. It makes the holster disappear as you don't see anything, but I haven't chosen this method for the reasons above.

Thanks for the replies,
I'm going to go with attaching the velcro via adhesive. That way if I don't like it, I can remove it and if it wears out over time, I can replace it. Yeah, it's not as neat as a more permanent, sewn in solution but it will give me some flexibilty.

I just (this month) got a Beltman belt with the velcro.
It is certainly significantly thicker, but by the same token, I can't see it wearing out in the next few years.
Of course, as I mentioned, mine's only a few weeks old. time will tell.
