    Concealed OWB Holster question

So I think I am getting a OWB Pancake from TT Gunleather. I have been using an IWB kydex rig for a while, but am looking for something more comfy. I am in Florida and I usually wear t-shirts and shorts. Sometimes I will throw on a Columbia fishing shirt and leave it untucked. Since I wear the columbia anyways, I figured I would try a nice leather OWB. How many of you effectively conceal a weapon using OWB??? Do you find it much more comfy than an IWB rig? Thanks guys!

Buy a good gun belt also if you don't already own one. A good belt is a necessary item

I have been CCing for 12+ years, and all of this time in a good quality pancake holster. I first tried IWB but found it very uncomfortable. I just now ordered my first IWB for a P232 from K&D, actually it is his new Thunderbird that converts from IWB to OWB, you may want to check it out. I have found the best OWB holster for me is the Bianchi Carryloc. Also Don Humes 721OT is a very nice pancake at a reasonable price.
    I carry a G23 everyday, all day.

I have a UGB IWB for my Kahr PM 9 and my XD 9. Both are comfortable. I also have a UBG OWB for my 1911.

It conceals well under a Hawaiian type shirt. Probably any loose shirt that is long enough to cover the full length would do well.

I employ both IWB and OWB carry combos and each works well for me. But, having said that, it remains totally up to me to make the various combos work. I find OWB quite comfortable and have a variety of loose shirts, vests of different kinds, light and heavy jackets, etc. I prefer IWB because I think it results in a better concealment combo.

I am left with the choices that need to be made to effect a safe, secure, and effective CCW combo.

I carry my Glock 26 in a SGH holster all the time, at 4 O'clock, and cover it with a button down shirt, or a large T-shirt un-tucked.

Sure, a IWB holster is more concealed but if you're built like me, with a couple extra pounds around the midsection, it's also less comfy.

With over 30 years experience of carrying a concealed pistol, I find concealing a pistol is more a lack of attitude with a good helping of experience and the right size pistol, than it is the actual holster location.

It sounds to me like the holster you have chosen will "git 'er dun!"

I carry OWB fairly often - concealed as much as one can OWB. I just ordered a US High Ride from Rusty Sherrick C. Rusty Sherrick - Vertical Belt Holsters . I do not have any experience with his holsters - but hoping his high ride will conceal a little more than the average holster. So far this has been the highest ride holster I have found. Concealing OWB you need a few things - a higher ride holster, tight/close to the body, a good belt & a good cover garment. Just FYI - I think he was estimating a 12-14 week turn around time.

While a OWB holster is MORE comfy, the IWB holster is MORE concealed. And thats why it's best to have both, depending on your clothing and environment.

I don't want to be more concealed than concealed.
Just plain concealed is good enough for me.

i've been carrying OWB more than IWB lately, mostly because of it getting hotter outside.

i have no issues concealing with my Don Hume OWBs, even in a tshirt. the very botom of the holster may stick out a tiny bit though sometimes. i often OC, so being concealed is not a big concern for me.

it all depends on where i'm going and what i'll be doing as to how i carry.
