IWB for Sig 229
Can someone recommend an IWB holster for the Sig 229? This is a new pistol, and definitely meatier than what I've carried IWB before.
I need something IWB - probably tuckable - due to wardrobe and circumstances. I'm not married to leather or kydex, or any other material.
I've used leather and nylon with a significantly thinner pistol. However, it's probably my least favorite method of carry; so, it has to be something stable and something that can help to nullify the thickness.
I appreciate any help anyone can provide.
Thanks,
GT

I would stick to a holster (leather or kydex) with a split loop design to minimize thickness and for greater stability. Some quality "tuckable" holsters to choose from:
1) Comp-Tac MTAC or CTAC
2) K&D Dakota or Cochise Defender
3) Tucker Texas Heritage or Answer

Crossbreed SuperTuck. I have one for my P239 and one on the way for a Kahr CW40. Very comfortable and adjustable. You'll see many threads on this forum about how happy most people are with this holster.

I have a very good friend who carried a Sig 229 for a very long time. He used a Desantis IWB. He has since gone toa G33 with the same brand of holster. To answer a question that might arise, he only switched for personal reasons, not lack of confidence in the Sig.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I appreciate it very much.
I've used DeSantis before; and liked them. I used the "Tuck This" model with a Kahr PM9. It was very serviceable with that model.
I've been looking at the MTAC. It seems like a very nice, functional holster. The other holsters of this type seem very nice also. Such as the Tucker "The Answer," and, the Crossbreed "Super Tuck."
If I go with this type, I may have a difficult decision choosing which one to go with.

The Galco Summer Comfort works well for me. I have 2. One for my M&P40 and one for my Ruger GP100 4" revolver. Both are very comfortable and well built.

MTAC is great...
I carry my P229R in an MTAC and I am thrilled with it.

GarynKY, I just bought my first SIG this year, a P229 SAS. It carries very well in a Milt Sparks VMII.
It will take you five months or so to get one, so the sooner you order...

The trim on your holster is very nice. That would match my Rafter S Shark gun belt.
