    Raven 25 as a BUG

I currently carry a Springfeld Armory XD subcompact 40 for my daily carry or ccw depending on several factors. I just can't see carrying my Ruger GP100 with a 6'' barrel on a daily basis. So, I am thinking about starting to carry my little Raven 25 as a BUG but wanted to get some thoughts and feedback. I would either go with a pocket or ankle holster.

    Any issues with either option?
For pocket, would you recommend a front or nack pocket?
Has anyone used this holster for a small 22 or 25 semi-auto? ZAA-912 - Ace Case Ankle Holster Fits Small Auto up to .32 Automatic Black Nylon 22 and .25 Auto
    Other ankle holster options?
Is it even worth carrying this as a BUG?

Sorry......IMHO, a Raven .25 is not even better than the proverbial sharp stick.

The .25 is horribly lacking in power (and I carry a .32, so I'm not anti-mousegun), and the Raven is renown for unreliability.

I know that you already own the Raven, but if you really want a BUG, I'd sell/trade it for something else. There are a ton of good options that won't break the bank.

    My .02.

I saw a cop show other night the guy discharged a davis .25auto to scare off some BG's,the gun jammed after the warning shot, davis and ravens are about the same as far as reliability,do you really want to trust your life with a gun that has a bad rep and rightly so.

In case of emergence aim and throw at attacker!
But seriously, I would not want to rely on anything smaller than a 38.

There was a time when nothing better was available. Now we ave very small .380s in the Kel-tec and Ruger and even pocketable 9mms and 40s.

I would get a Keltec P32 or even better yet, a P3AT. These little rods are about the same size as a Raven .25, yet lighter and more powerful. Their availability has increased with the hard to find, hot little Ruger LCP on the scene now.
    God bless our troops!

I agree the Raven is a Ghetto gun, sell it, trash it, whatever get yourself a better BUG. I have two of the Naa Guardians one in 32 and one in 380 and I love them, 100% reliable. There are also Seecamps, Ruger LCP, Keltecs in 32 and 380, Good luck if you need any info on the Guardians just PM me.

Hey NCHornet,, remember me from CSF and TFL?

    Check out this site,,

we have fun with Ravens,, and other SNS's but they have a small place in the world.. It's fun to joke about them and shoot them at ranges for a challange..

    Yeah...buy a knife...or perhaps a roll of quarters.
