    Del Fatti Leather (Shoulder Holster)

Sometimes a person will hear allot of "hype" about one thing or the other. I usually figured it was just that....HYPE. I had read about Del Fatti leather for several years, and always figured it was no better than any other gun leather. That is until I actually received one from him, and tried it out. I found out it wasn't hype, but the real thing.

I know lots of folks do not like the idea of shoulder holsters. I have tried to carry a concealed handgun in about everyway there is to carry one, and have not found anything that quite suited me like a shoulder holster. During summer time I admit it can be a little too hot for a shoulder rig, especially if you wear a t-shirt under the should rig like I do, and during those really hot months I use a pocket holster and small revolver in my front pocket.

There's not a gun board on the internet where the word "Del Fatti" doesn't show up at one time or another, especially if holsters are talked about.

I have used an Alessi shoulder holster for a long time, and admit that it suited me perfectly, and still does. I consider Alessi top quality, and it is very well made. However after receiving this Del Fatti shoulder rig, I will say I have never seen such quality and comfort from a shoulder rig. I highly recommend Del Fatti as a source of handgun leather.

I would personally rate Del Fatti's leather as a 10, on a scale from 1-10. His waiting list is almost unbearable, but worth it when the leather finally shows up.

    Ahh, more Del Fatti goodness.

I'm waiting for a few things myself, and I know it'll be worth the wait.

Del Fatti is also a master inventor. Several years ago he crafted a device similar to a speedloader pouch for me, except this item held two full moon clips for a S&W 10mm revolver and attached to my belt. The perfect solution for what ailed me.

Very cool setup. Lot of firepower in that very small package.

Very nice! How long was your wait? I really wish he'd start taking orders again.

    Mr. Wilson:

I honestly don't know exactly how long it took from the time I ordered it, until I received it. I do know it is a long wait with Del Fatti. You can go to his website and get an estimate I think.

I really like shoulder holsters with no thumb breaks. As a Glock carrier, I'm generally SOL in that regard, though I think DF might have some sort of other retention scheme for Glocks?

ETA: though maybe the s/h pictured does have snaps?

Unfortunately Del Fatti has suspended taking orders and is currently working on orders from June of 2006. So for those of us new to his work, it will a while before we can order and receive one.

This shoulder holster does not have pull through snaps. Below is a photo of how the revolvers fasten in the holsters-

    He does.
Matt made the shoulder rigs for my Glock 36s with retention via a Kydex "spring" that permits a straight pull without any thumb break to manipulate.
The natural horsehide one pictured on his website with a Glock 36, left-handed, is mine, though unfortunately it doesn't show the Kydex spring.

I don't show it on purpose, Doc. It keeps be from being "flattered" by those who like to imitate.
