The belt - just as important as the holster!

I've had my VM2 for a while. I was using a 1 1/2" dickies belt that I bought from sears. It concealed well, but I would still print a little bit wearing t shirts. Just got my beltman 1 1/2" bullhide belt...and WOW! I am impressed. It's WAY more supportive, actually helps the holster pull the grip into my back, and now I don't print in a t shirt at all. I'd say it's just as important as the holster itself.

My carry rig is complete. Beltman bullhide, VM2, and a milt sparks IWB mag carrier to top it all off.

I always heard this and never really believed it. That was until I bought a real gun belt with Kydex insert and it made a world of difference. Now I believe and also repeat the belt is just as important as the holster.

Absolutely, buying a good holster and not investing in a good carry belt is a waste of money!

I believe that the guy who does the Beltman belts used to do them for Wild Bills.

I got 2 of his belts and not only do they offer outstanding support, I have had them for 5 years; wear them everyday and they still look like new.

You would ultimately spend much more money using cheap belts that you have to keep replacing than getting a good quality gun belt.

    Good move!

I'm struggling to decide between a Milt Sparks belt and a beltman belt. I know I can't go wrong with either, but the wait, price, and the interesting curve in the Sparks offering, all have my putting way more thought into the decision than it probably deserves.

I have a relatively cheap department store belt now, and while a VM2 hides my Kimber pretty well, the butt of the gun still wanders a bit from my side.

The belt - just as important as the holster!
    Only for belt holsters, LOL!

Actually, it is a whole system of matched sizing that matters. The gun has to properly fit the holster. The holster has to properly fit the belt. The belt has to properly fit the beltloops of the pants. If the belt is too small for the belt loops, you get unwanted movement of the holster because the belt isn't secure, hence the holster isn't. If the holster loops are too big for the belt, you get unwanted movement of the holster, especially sliding and rocking. If the holster is the wrong size for the gun, you get unwanted movement or a stuck gun.
Considering yourself to be defenseless is the first administrative step to becoming a victim.
