    K-Man,

We will take care of this thread for you.

    Get back to work!

Besides, my waiting is helping with a long standing problem of mine, adding "Patience" to my all-too-short list of "virtues." (Enjoyed your post, though.)

K-Man gave me a call a few days ago and explained that the dummy gun he needed from Ruger had not been sent and my holster would be on the back burner until then. He then advised that if I wanted to try another manufacturer that was ok! I told him that I really appreciated his customer service and was ready, and willing to wait for the quality product he produced. My only regret is not ordering more holsters when I placed my initial order. K-Man, you are a dam good person to deal with and if I ever visit your neck of the woods it would be great to see you in person practicing your craft!

Regarding turn-around time, I think that Matt DelFatti has the best idea yet. He posts the month that he is working on holsters for. The last time I looked he was working on October 2004.
That lets one know how long the wait will be.

Most do not have that long a backlog, and maybe it is not as practicable.

I always know that the best makers are going to have a backlog, and so I just resign myself to that fact, and decide if I can wait or not. I sometimes wonder how long before I will get my holster, but figure that if everyone called, the maker would not be able to get his work done.

I assume that Kevin has a 12 week or so backlog, and I will get mine when he gets to me. His work is worth the wait. I sure like that Laredo Defender.

I have a belt and a holster (If he can find the right gun for a pattern) on order from Kevin. I contacted him a few days ago and he said he was running about 2 weeks behind as he had a large order for the Navy Seals and mine was after that. Now if ya think about it his turnaround time is usualy 4-6 weeks, now add another 2-3 weeks on that and your still below what every other holster maker is advertising.
I own one of Kevins holsters and they are worth the wait.

Kevin, rock on man, glad to see business is good for you as you do awsome work.

Kevin, I bought a Glock 23 three days ago and a Taurus 85 Ultralite today, so get ready for 2 more orders! But please, if you need to slow down, do it! As skilled a craftsman as you must be, no holster is worth killing yourself over! Us Swabbies have to stick together!

Heck, here I was thinking you had to be ex-Navy and lived thru a heart attack just to order from him! I'm qualified on both counts.

Interesting to hear about the Seal order, though. Kevin, I'd have no problem with my order being put behind any current military orders. Feel free to move me around your schedule.

My service is in the past, theirs is now.

I've been fighting the impatient bug too. I placed an order the first of January and have been impatiently waiting ever since. But that's not because I want Kevin to hurry, just that I can't wait to see the high-quality holster that I know I will get. I know I will be very happy with my holsters when they get here and having them made by a skilled craftsman is worth the wait. (Speaking of wait try contacting Milt Sparks, their wait is twice as long as Kevin's.)

Kevin, I've been meaning to ask, what was your rate and when did you retire?
