Belt clip carry opinions(LCP/KT3AT)

I've read about some who have safety concearns about carrying a LCP (or KT 3AT) with a belt clip. I'm still looking for the most comfortable and most concealed way to carry my Ruger LCP. I've tried an IWB holster that works fairly well but I feel like I need to get a larger pants waist size. I don't feel a belt clip would not take up near as much room. I'm looking for opinions on the safety aspect of carrying this way. Thanks.

P.S. I did a search but couldn't find a thread on this particular topic. Seems like there's a gazillion conversations about LCP's. I don't want to add to the clutter if I don't have to.:smile:

Take a look at the Mini Tuck IWB by Crossbreed, I use it with my Keltecc and LCP. very comfy and no need for larger pants. Sticking a gun in your pants WITHOUT the trigger covered is asking for trouble.

Any carry of a firearm must involve a holster of some type that will cover the trigger...OMO.

I'd still prefer an IWB of some type...for a small, P-3AT I use either a pocket holster (Fist #5 kydex pocket) or a Fist #41 SOB...not on the spine but rather over the right kidney...disappears into the concave part of the back...you won't even know it's there.

Stay armed...Fist...stay safe!

I personally would be afraid to carry without the trigger being guarded.
I currently carry my LCP in a Desantis pocket holster. I am however considering a waistband holster. Do whats safe first, comfortable second. Good luck.

If you want to carry a gun with a belt clip, than do it. I've carried a gun without a holster many times and have a belt clip on my P3at. My P3at is in my pocket most of the time. Just make sure nothing will interfere with the trigger if you carry without a holster. Do it if YOUR comfortable with it and let these other people not do it since they don't want to. Make your own decision. Someone will probably flame me for this but they won't change my mind.

I prefer to have the trigger covered. You can choose what works for you.

I have the clip for my P3AT, but I've never installed or used it....

I always carry my P3AT in a front pocket, in either a Milt Sparks pocket holster or a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. GTG.

Thanks for the opinions. I think I'm gonna try a pocket holster next. Being new to carrying, I tend to be a little on the cautious side...not saying that we all aren't cautious...whew!

Ditto...better safe than sorry. Too many examples of unguarded triggers catching something...

I recently got this "Pop Top" holster by Ron Graham for my Keltec. It's very comfortable. If you're looking for a belt clip holster for your LCP, you may want to check this out.

just my 2 cents here.

IMO, the pocket clip has it's application, which may be a quick trip out to the store, it is nice to have available.

listen, not to mention, with the LONG trigger pull on the LCP or the Keltec's - you'd have to really be out of your mind to place your finger in the trigger guard and then pull the trigger that far back in your pocket. :nono:

again, just my opinion.
