I normaly carry either a Bersa Thunder 380 or a Taurus 85 on my ankle as a backup when I am on duty.

I don't mind either one both are kind of light and do not cause me much problem.

I use an ankle holster when not wearing a suit, but khakis and a tucked polo shirt (don't have a smartcarry, yet)...with my MK9

I carry my P32 at the ankle when I have to. But it's not too often.

I've tried it for my backup and CC, and I've concluded that its about the worse way to carry in most circumstances. There are some such as sitting in a car, that it does work well.

I've used one of Lou's holsters, and it is secure and comfy.

    I carry a BUG on my Ankle, S&W 442.

I'm using a Galco Ankle Glove at the moment, but switching back to Renegade Ankle Holster since I need a new Holster. Nothing wrong with the Galco, lasted ten years with about six years of almost daily carry, but I like the Renegade better.

I spend a lot of time sitting, or on my back, and that's where it's easiest drawing from an Ankle Holster.

    Take care and stay safe.

When I must have absolute discretion I use my ankle holster with my S&W 640. When I get a S&W 340 I will also use the ankle holster for my BUG.

I've found the Bianchi Triad to be excellent for ankle carry. The unique design keeps the grip tucked in tight against your ankle, so there is minimum if any printing. It helps to wear cargo pants which typically have loose fitting ankles.

I carry a Mod 36 in an ankle holster as BUG to my .45 ACP Primary.

I would never consider carrying it as Primary. As another here has pointed out, it is not a perfect carry point.

But, It is comfortable with the Mod 36 and the idea is that it would be accessed as a last ditch effort. I would already be crouched (hopefully behind cover) and maybe even shot! My Primary would be out of ammo, malfunctioned beyond immediate repair, taken away from me, dropped when hand shot, whatever.

I do carry my 442 every once in a while in a Galco Ankle Glove. I've found it to be more comfortable than the premium makers ankle holsters.

On occasion I carry a S&W 642 on the ankle as my primary weapon. It rides in a Gould and Goodrich ankle holster. Pretty comfortable with the garter calf strap and sheep skin/wool on inside of ankle strap.

I am not sure if anyone else has done this before but just about eveyone on our department who carries a BU on the ankle has taken their pants and split the seam up to about the knee. Then we have velcro put in as to make the pants look normal but if you have to draw you can just rip the pants open and have easy access to the gun. It sounds bad but if done right it looks like there have been no alterations.

Glock 27 in a Renegade holster. Primary method of carry most of the time at work.
