    Raven Phantom vs. Comp-Tac Infidel

I'm looking for a holster that gives me a lot of different options for IWB and OWB. From what I can tell, these are probably the best choices for this sort of thing if I don't want to buy 10 different holsters to account for each possible carry method.

Which one do you prefer? Why?

I don't have an opinion on these specific holsters; however, while I understand your desire for a "one-size-fits-all" approach, generally speaking a holster that tries to do everything, very rarely excels at anything. Strictly my opinion, take it for what it's worth, but I would avoid any sort of "universal" holster system. Instead I'd suggest a decent OWB and a decent IWB if those are your primary carry preferences, and you can find models of each that are in turn customizable for different carry configurations (cant, height, position, loops, clips, etc.). Comp-Tac makes great stuff, I highly recommend their MTAC for IWB, short of something custom like a VMII or a MaxConV.

Well, part of it is a cost issue. I'd like to have options, and if I can get something that works pretty well in multiple roles for a lower price that is definitely worth it for me. In an ideal world I understand that I'd love to have a wide array of holsters specifically tailored to different carry methods, but that is simply not practical for me at this time.

Of course, it should go unsaid that I am not interested in something which saves money if it doesn't work

I own both and don't believe either would be a poor choice.

Personally, the only draw-back to the Phantom is the fact that it is available in only one belt width, an 1 1/2 inch, making it slop around a bit with my 1 1/4 inch gun belts. Otherwise, the Phantom would be perfect in my estimation.

    I vote Phantom.

I posted my own thread with my observations and pictures. I can conceal an HK45 with this holster. Not an easy feat...large gun. I own a Comp-Tac MTAC for my G19 and I will be switching to the phantom for my primary holster.
