I have one. About the only time I use it is when we are riding ATV's. It works good then, rides high and has a thumb strap so I never worry about losing my pistol while riding. For concealed carry, I use a much better quality IWB.

I have used several over the years. OK constuction, not exceptionally tightly molded to the individual guns they are made for. My biggest peeeve with Galco is 1 3/4" belt loops used in most of thier line. I prefer Desantis for ready made production holsters.

I agree with Smith that DeSantis beats Galco. I have a couple of Galco holsters, and they don't hold up over time.

Another option is Don Hume -- I like my Hume Agent 711 much better than the Galco Fletch, and it rides high and has a thumb break if that's what you're looking for. The 711 has a reinforced opening for one-hand reholstering, and a reinforced TB.

Thanks, I've had a open top pancake galco that I've used for about 5 1/2 years for carry for a 1911 9mm I had. But, I went with a XD45 for carry and the open top didn't seem as secure and I like the forward cant. It does show the 5+ years of wear, but never failed me. I'll have to check out your suggestions, thanks.

Just another guy chiming in that for the price point I prefer the Desantis line. Their ICE II holster is a best buy given the price point, though it is only available for Sigs iirc.

I used a Fletch for a few years. It is a fine holster. Mine wore well and still has years of use left in it. In fact, I just passed it down to my son to use as he just this month recieved his carry permit. I now use the Galco Concealable due to a CCW change. I would recommend either for daily use.

    Fletch

I am not a fan of the Fletch line... I had one once and sold it.
I went to a Desantis OWB (can't remember the model, that was about 10 years ago).
There are other makers that make one similar but better, in my meager opinion.
I like G&G's version: Gould & Goodrich | Gold Line Concealment Holsters, Belts & Accessories |
I have some of their mag pouches and they make some nice stuff.

I have owned a few Don Humes and they were well made:

I am sure there are many others...

    Good luck on your search!

I've used the Fletch. It's a decent holster and fit my gun well. If you like a holster with a thumb strap, it's a good enough buy. Personally, I don't care for thumb straps on holsters used for concealed carry.

This is OT, but I'm curious why Gould&Goodrich would include Taurus revolvers on some of their holsters and not any Ruger revolvers. Are Taurus revolvers that much more popular than Ruger revolvers?
