Question New to the forum. Very impressed, need holster sug. for H&K USP compact in .40?

I have been looking through old posts but keep getting side tracked.

Anybody have a suggestion on a good concealed carry holster for a H&K USP compact in .40? I would consider myself on the heavy side of normal.

    Thanks...

Well, you'll get about 50% or more referring you to Comp-Tac MTAC or Crossbreed Supertuck. Good stuff I'm sure.

I love all-leather rigs, and will just give you my standard reference for the one I have for 3 different guns.

Here's the Dual Carry (my fav) for your gun:

    Welcome from Michigan!

As near as I can tell, the three most recommended holsters on this and other forums are the Comp Tac MTAC, the Crossbreed and the Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 (the one I'm partial too). There are plenty of other good choices, but these three seem almost universal in their appeal/acceptance for a wide variety of weapon and body types. Hard to argue with what seems nearly overwhelming consensus, and these give you your best chance of success on the first try.
    Regards, T Bone.

Welcome. I am going to fall into one of OHSHOOTS and T BONES categories. I cannot speak for the others, but I have a Crossbreed super tuck for both my HK USP 9mm compact and HK USP 45 full size and am happy with the product. Good luck on your search, it was difficult for me to choose.

OhShoot, thanks for the Bullards link! Look like really nice holsters at very reasonable prices. Think I'll have to try one of those.

Right now, I'm carrying my G17 in either a CTAC or a paddle holster - both made my Comp Tac.

If you want an all leather custom holster for well under $100 check out www.kdholsters.com. I have a Dakota Defender on order that should arrive by the end of this month. This holster came recommended by several others on this forum. It has a lot of features that I found very appealing.

For all carry except AIWB, the MTAC and the K&D Dakota Defender are IMO the two best on the market. The adjustability of cant and depth trumps the old Versa Max II standard.
