    Shoulder Holster / Monarch Question

Just a question for those of you who may have tried multiple types of shoulder holsters...

Sam Andrews seems to be the only design that incorporates an extra strap across the back - negating the need for tie downs...

So, does this work better/the same/worse than traditional tie downs? I know most people's complaint about should holsters is the movement of the rig and I was just wondering, since tie downs don't seem to solve the problem, if Andrew's design did.

Absolutely! My wife loves her Monarch for exactly that reason! She rarely wears belts, so the Monarch is perfect for her.

Actually, if you position your firearm high enough and under the armpit - you don't need the back strap at all or any tie down on the firearm side.
Depending on how tight your spare mag pouches are it might help to have a tie down on the mag side.
Just my opinion that as illustrated above - that firearm is positioned too low and so (of course) you would need a back strap for that carry location.
The firearm positioned as depicted there or down near the belt is for the TV detective movies and not for real world shoulder carry.
That having been said - the monarch is a great shoulder rig.
    Just my opinion.

Good info - as the only time I've ever really seen a shoulder rig was on TV - I had no idea wearing it up higher was either an option or useful...
