    Exotic holster makers

Ever since seeing that Bearclaw Holsters western diamondback picture, I've been thinking about who actually makes nice exotic holsters; you know, the alligator skin, snakeskin, stingray, etc.? Bearclaw Holsters doesn't appear to have a website (says under construction), so does anybody have suggestions for who carries/makes good photogenic exotic holsters?

Look at Mitch Rosen. Has just what you are looking for. Watch out for the sticker shock, but his work has no equal. My 2 cents.

Thanks guys. The Del Fatti stuff looks good, but I can't see anything from Mitch Rosen. Any snakeskin?

(Don't hesitate to post any pictures you might have of your own exotic holsters, too. )

UBG , El Passo, Galco, Haugen, there's another guy who does exotic hide over Kydex, but I don't recall the name.

I'll just stick w/ shark or elephant.

JD, thanks for those. The snakeskin thing I don't really know how to explain, I just generally like the look of it. Not gonna lie, though, I think I whimpered out loud when I saw the El Passo prices.

los, that is amazing. I'm thinking Del Fatti is a name I'm going to have to remember. Just saw this, also...

Double check the El Passo page, the BIG prices were for complete sets, the price makes sense when you see that you're getting an exotic holster, belt, and mag carrier. The regular black shark isn't too pricey.

If you want exotic, prepare to pay for it. Even just getting trim alone adds to the price.

That's true, hadn't noticed it at first. I did expect to pay for exotic, but I honestly didn't expect to pay those kind of prices. Ah well, can't be helped I guess.

I had this Laredo Defender made by K&D Holsters. Kevin did a nice job with the elephant on mine and I know he has many exotic skin choices. Check 'em out.

Most makers carry at least shark, which is probably my favorite. Here's what I have on hand.

    Black Shark
    Iguana
    Python
    I have access to elephant.
    Hornback Alligator.
    Fake lizard

Makers also have pretty immediate access to other stuff, so if you have a special request, just ask the maker of your choosing and he/she will see what they can get. I just don't buy big quantities of the expensive stuff to sit on it for years.

    Exotics

I don't know if these were mentioned but:

Side Guard Holsters just entered the exotic arena
    HBE Leatherworks
Kramer, though they don't have many pics posted
    Garrity

And like Nate said, most makers carry exotics. I always have some shark, elephant, stingray, ostrich leg and eel on hand just in case.

    Good luck on your hunt.

Mitch states on his web that he has all the exotic hides you asked about. As you stated, he does not show any pic's except at the top of his home page.Give him a call, perhaps he can send you better pic's of his work. I have seen his ostrich hide shoulder rigs and they are beyond belief. Stingray will last forever. As well as elephant hide. Snake skin is nice,I prefer,Stringray, elephant, shark,in that order. Good luck.
