If you carry a spare mag in some type of holster/pouch/holder etc. what position do you generally have it in?
For example, if you're right handed would you keep it at 9:00, 8:00?
Curious

Since mine is next to my cell phone, it comes in at about 7:00. The cell phone camouflages the mag pouch. And if I need to reload and pick up the cell phone instead, I can just dial 9-1-1. I am sure they will be there to protect me in no time.![]()

Right-handed, carry spare mag about 0800-0830.
Easy access to left hand, but not on hip at 9 o'clock where it would stick out and possibly be easier to notice.
I'll preface by stating that I am left hand dominant.
For many years I carried in the conventional position somewhere between 3 o'clock and 4:30, bullets forward, trying both forward and rearward cant. I was satisfied w/ this because it seemed to be what everyone suggested as appropriate.
About a year ago, I decided to try appendix carry and now always carry spares at around 1:30. I've found that this is significantly faster for me on reloads and much more comfortable in general, at least for me.
Take it for what it's worth. Everyone has an opinion, right?
Right handed. Mag pouch at about 8:30, behind my cell phone.

So it would seem that most people carry behind the 9:00 position. Reason I asked is because when sitting and specifically driving it's annoying at 9:00 and back. Is it something you guys have just gotten used to over time?

OWB kydex double mag pouch, approx. 8:30. Holds two extra G33 mags w/+1 Pierce's.
You'll rock, with a 357 Glock
7 O'clock or thereabouts. It goes behind the cell phone holster mainly.
I don't notice it at 0830. It's right at the point where my back rests against the chair or seat, but the mag holder is not between my back and the chair. I had to feel for it just now to describe it's location because I couldn't tell I had it on.
Keep trying. You'll find some spot that is good for you. Maybe even pocket carry, although that is harder to access while sitting down. How about horizontal carry on the belt? I have a horizontal carry pouch I used to use. It works well, but takes up extra space I now use for other stuff.
Keep trying. You'll find a good spot that works for you.
Glock 19 Pistol in wee cut up Glock holster, fraction behind right hip bone.
Glock single mag pouch, shortened a bit, behind left hip bone, bullets forward, butt plug to smooth up the mag; change, spare mag; a G17.
One more mag; pouch behind that one, with surefire flash light, run boiling water on it in kitchen sink, then force Plastic cased surefire into it! Repeat process till it fits kind of OK, then you can still use it as a mag; pouch in an IDPA match.
5 o'clock , or in my RH back pocket(LH 'er).
