I have a couple. They aren't nearly as well made as a good custom, even though they cost nearly as much or even more sometimes.
The upside, is that most models are generally immediately available somewhere in the retail chain.

Just curious what kind of problem you had with Don Hume. I used Hume holsters for just the same reason mentioned by the OP (waiting for a custom). My only gripe is the lack of a reinforced mouth on the PCCH IWB holster. It's comfortable, but sucked for IDPA since it would collapse on reholstering. I substituted one of their belt clip IWB (H715-M) and bent the clip to allow a 15° cant.
I was at a gun show yesterday and they had a table of Galco holsters, all out of packages and unmarked. I asked about price and was told $150-$200.I was tempted to ask if that was each or for the whole table ;)
