    Holster/Mag Pouch Question...

I recently ordered and recieved a Don Hume H721 OT holster for my P7. With it I ordered a single mag pouch. I must say that the fit of the holster is very good. The quality of both is way above their respective prices. However, the magazine for the P7 just rattles around in the mag pouch. I contacted Don Hume today and the person said that the model I have is the one they make for the P7 mags. She went on to say that it also is the one for 1911 mags. Well, last time I looked the mag for a 1911 is wider and deeper than any single stack 9mm. Has anyone else used a Hume mag pouch for 9mm ? If so what model # ? She suggested I could try their 400-B model, but that it was made for the Walther .380 . I worry that might be too small.

I appreciate any help. I'll post some pics when I get a chance - the holster really is very nice quality and an absolute steal for the price.

I'm guessing they made it for the P7 M13, and that you have the P7 M8? Just a guess here. Did you ask if they have anything they make for a single stack 9mm?

If it's leather, just run a little hot water into the pouch. Wrap your mag in plastic, then insert it in the pouch. Smoosh (technical term) around the magazine like you're working with clay. Remove your magazine and let the pouch dry for a day. That should take care of it.

    Nate's suggestion will work.

Regarding the current fit, no a .45 mag carries won't work very well with a P7 mag without altering the carrier, the dimensions are just too different, unless the carrier has a tension screw adjustment.

I have a single mag carrier from DeSantis that is for a single stack .45 mag, but with the tension screw adjusted properly it accommodates the P7(PSP) mag nicely.

Actually, they don't make a mag pouch for a P7 M8 or PSP specifically( I'm not sure if they make a specific carrier for the M13, but I know this is what they list for both the PSP and M8). The model 200-B is what they list for all of the 9mm single stacks ( and obviously by her comments, single stack 45's as well). It's just very sloppy. I'd guess it would fit a 1911 mag well enough. Perhaps I'll try Nate's suggestion or maybe I'll gamble and order the mag pouch they list for the .380's .

Edit: BTW, there is no tension screw .

Too many makers build for a generic size to cut down on models. Sounds like that's what you've run into. I'd send it back and buy a pouch made for your specific magazine.
