    Magazine and Flashlight Pouch

I just purchased an inexpensive 2-pocket belt clip pouch that carries a small LED flashlight and a spare magazine, both covered by a velcro flap. It is the Nite Ize Mini Black Pock-Its - Belt Clip Utility Pouch (what a mouthful!) sold at Professional Equipment.com ( Nite Ize Mini Black Pock-Its - Belt Clip Utility Pouch - Mfg# PIM-03-01 ) for $11.95. The front pocket carries a small barrel flashlight. The rear pocket is intended for a multi-tool, but that's where I carry the magazine. It's a little deep for the 7 round single-stack mag. for my Kahr MK9; the mag. disappears down inside the pocket making quick draw impossible. I store a couple of spare CR2 batteries for the light at the bottom of that well, whick raises the magazine to a proper level to be easily grasped and withdrawn.

The larger double-stack magazine for my Glock 23 fits, too but is a tighter fit and doesn't require the battery spacers at the bottom.

That is pretty cool. I like the pouch. Might have to invest $12 in one myself for Christmas.

Here's a Brommeland model that will cost you a bunch more that $12, but is a stupendous dedicated piece of quality...

That looks like a great $12 item if it gets some one to carry a reload.

Both of the alternates presented force me to open-carry the magazine. I much prefer to have the magazine under a flap. When anyone questions what's in the pouch, I truthfully say "flashlight." Only the gun friendly questioner gets the whole answer "...and a spare mag."

That good thinking, while the other pouches look a lot better and will give you quicker access --- your pouch does give you another added level of concealabilty AND its an inexpensive solution.

    Hey jofrdo,
Do you think a surefire G2 would fit in there?

The outer material is pretty rugged and not elastic, so it doesn't stretch to receive bigger gear. The bigger the light, the less room is left for the magazine. Any light with a single stack of batteries layed end-to-end, AA's or CR2's, will work fine. Single C's or a side-by-side cluster of AAA's would be too large.

I purchased two pouches, one for each of my SureFires, but I find that I much prefer to just clip my SureFire to my pocket for a quicker grab and less 'stuff' on my belt...the mag is still in an open leather pouch which remains concealed.

Just don't forget that I worked the leather in order stretch the flap and the flashlight part. Still if you can do it, it's a cheap easy solution. I haven't found anyone making one like it otherwise for our purposes.

Another tip is I cut the belt loop in the back and removed a wedge shaped piece of leather up to where it folds. This lets me individually snap the belt loops on either side of a pants belt loop locking it in place. Now it doesn't slide around on the belt.

Seriously some holster makers should make one off the rack for us.
