    Dakota Defender Arrived

Well, after waiting 21 weeks I finally received my K&D Dakota Defender. The longer than expected delay was due to a shortage of clips. This is my first custom holster and I could not be any happier. Kevin is definitely an expert at his craft. The stitching is impeccable and my G23 fits perfectly. So far I have found that this holster is the most comfortable at the 3:30 position for me. I am still experimenting with the height at which it rides. Thank you to all of you on this forum who recommended K&D when I posted my inquiry as to where to start looking for an affordable custom holster. Now I just need a few more guns so I can order a few more holsters.
The pictures do not do it justice. The holster kind of appears burgundy, but it is really black.

I was looking for a leather alternative to the MTAC. I think I just found it.

Let me know how those belt clips work. I had a holster with them and felt they were a little on the tight side.

It looks like I missed it when you originally asked the question about holsters lowgroove, but I would have told you to be sure and check out K&D Holsters. I have their Cochise Defender and I love it!!. Kevin was tops to work with and as you have found out, makes outstanding gear!!
Your Dakota Defender looks very nice!!

I ordered my Thunderbird Defender in early Aug. So should be seeing it soon. This is my second holster from Kevin and the workmanship on the first one is top notch.

I have this holster as well. In fact it's just like the one in the photo, except mine is a lefty. It's beautiful and seems to be well made. I like it a lot, but I don't wear it much anymore. That's because the throat of the holster doesn't stay open for me so re-holstering the gun is difficult.
