    My Rig is Complete...for now...

My Beltmans came in today. 1.75" buckless bull hide for wear under the duty belt and 1.5" horsehide for off duty wear. Complemented by the G30SF in a Kirpatrick TSS and a Galco double mag paddle.

These belts are robust as all get out. They are thick and add some retention to the gun. Will have to break in the holster agian with some draws.

OK, You're a cop. I was wondering why you had a pistol in the state of Illinois.

People can have pistols in IL. Can't carry concealed, but they can have them.

OK, I saw some advertisements and speakers saying, that if a woman can't defend herself, she must allow herself to get raped and then reported it to the police, or by vomiting to make themselves less attractive hoping the rapist will leave.

So is that just propaganda and if someone invades your home in IL, you can do whatever it takes to defend yourself ?

Not really wanting to turn my new gunleather thread into a political forum but to answer your question:

Yes, an Illinois resident can shoot to defend their lives if their home is invaded...actually you can shoot someone outside your home if they are likely to enter the home to commit a forceable felony. Example:
Guy is standing outside the house with a chainsaw runnig and states, "I'm going to chop up your family...then said badguy starts sawing at your door to gain entry...you can smoke him right then and there.

Just so you all know...when you get one of these real gunfighting belts, you will need to do some serious holster draws. Its turned my holster into a vice and my arms are smoked drawing over and over!

Been wearing it for the last 1.5 days...a little uncomfortable, but I'm sure it just takes some gettin used to over that noodle belt I had for 8 years.
