This old thread should help you out with understanding the basics even though it's centered around knife sheaths.

OK Here is one more that is way more involved.
You can make a nice Kydex holster without a vacuum table though.

sweet!! good info!! i have the opportunity to bye a lot of kydex really cheap!! but there is one catch!! the color....its a gray granite color!! do yall think that would make an ok holster? i think it would be fine???
Gray should be fine. Depending on what you are making , the thickness might matter. i have worked in only kydex 100 and carbon fiber faced kydex though.
If you run into any in problems or need more explanation working with kydex feel free to PM me .

ok thanks! its 60... i have seen several people us that for holsters but use 100 for the belt loop! where do u get your kydex?
The kydex 100 is a brand name I believe. I get mine from a few sources such as here Interstate Plastics - Product List I typically use .060 or .093 thickness kydex which I believe you are referring to?.

Good luck..
You'll have a blast making kydex holsters. Take your time, wear thick gloves, and be creative. Don't skimp out on finishing up the holster. I know it takes extra time, but rounding sharp edges and sanding things smooth really add to the finished product.

thanks for all the advice guys! i have a question...can you use glue to bond the seams??maybe a pvc glue?? isn't it a pvc product??

PVC Cement does not work well at all and the normal cements for vinyl and plastic don't work worth a crap either. Super glue sucks also.
There IS a special Kydex bonding adhesive out there but, I'll be dogged if I can remember the name of it. Somebody here will know.
Does Dev-Con make that type of Kydex adhesive, maybe?
