    Baggy Cargo Shorts...VERY Comfortable CC

Today my Witness Compact .40 arrived. Yesterday a Bianchi IWB holster arrived. As a newbie to CC I tried various IWB postions...pretty good says I. Then I tried stuffing the piece inside the deep right front pocket of some cargo shorts. Holy Moly! I can hardly tell it's there. Yes, it looks bit "lumpy" to an astute observer but boy does it feel confortable! Draw is handy, fast and safe...far more then the IWB method. Not exactly rocket science, but I just felt like passing it along.

Wow, I would think that would be too big for pocket carry. But hey everyone is different... if it works for you go with it.

Try running for 100ft at various speeds/intensity with pocket carry in those shorts.

One thing that pocket carry in loose-fitting "cargo" style shorts does is fail to avoid slapping and shifting inside the pocket.

Long-time wearer of looser-fitting shorts and pants, here. I have yet to find a more comfortable carry method. Works very well as occasional primary, and perfectly for a BUG. Just be cognizant of some of the limitations and you should find it a very useful carry combination.

I only pocket carry my mouse guns...a Kimber in the front pocket would prove to be uncomfortable and hard to retrieve...OMO...I also would think that a larger weapon in a front pocket is going to be a bit 'tipsy'...good luck on the draw.

Don't forget to also wear a Hawaiian shirt and a vest with your baggy cargo shorts so you can really be incognito.

how do you like the witness?

Did you get the polymer or wondersteel? How does it shoot? Been thinking about picking on of these up. I really like the way you can change calibers with the same frame. I also really like that they are not too expensive. So far, how do you like it?

Suggest you look into a pocket holster for this method of carry. Potential advantages are, keeping the pistol oriented the same (for consistent draw), keeping pocket lint out of the barrel (and maybe action), reducing printing (smooths the lines) and covering the trigger guard.

Those are the same reasons I choose it. I got the Wonder Finish. At 30 oz, it has good "heft" and comfortable grip. No range time yet.
First upgrade will be wood grips simply because I like the look.

BTW, the cargo shorts are Columbia brand. The front pockets are deep enough and the ideal width to prevent the piece from rotating out of vertical. The pockets also have a stand off panel giving volumn just right for the thickness of the gun and easy draw. Printing is almost invisible w/o a pocket holster. The Bianchi IWB also works well.

No guns in the pocket....ask Plaxico about the "un-holstered" weapons......
I will use my back pocket for my 642 sometimes, but 98% of the time I use holsters.

    Exclamation

Don't forget to make sure it's legal to carry in a pocket w/o a holster.
Gun control is not about the guns...It's about the control.

In Florida, concealed IS concealed...no mention of a holster requirement.
