I just ordered a Beltman belt- so after that comes I'll be ordering mine (I'd like to order now but I don't' want to miss out on my 2 week trial and I don't have a good gun belt now so it wouldn't be a good test....) I think I'll get the cowhide

I own cowhide, love mine. Got it back in October, so I really have had a chance to wear it during summer as my previous summer carry was a Bersa 380...

To beat a dead horse a bit more...(yeah, yeah, groan away)

I have fairly dark skin, so the tan would actually be better for me, according so some people. However, since 'concealed is concealed', I went with black...mainly because most of the clothing I wear is dark or black. And like Mark says, if someone spies the holster, the color won't matter because they'll likely focus like a laser on the gun.

I voted horsehide, only 'cause that what I bought. I liked the tan color better, added concealment in case I am wearing a white shirt so the black cow hide wouldn't show through as easily.

I also tend to sweat a lot and have sweated through the horsehide, while on a construction site so I'd hate to see how much would make it through the cowhide.

Just a few years late, but I live in the New Orleans area - extremely humid most of the year.

I have a couple cow hide, and 2 of the horse hide Crossbreed holsters - no comparison.

Horse hide rules - much less absorbent and stiffer.

I went with the horsehide for my CB holster.

Why? Because seriously, $15 bucks extra or so isn't a big deal for the extra protection against sweat or humidity. Granted, I get very little of both here, but still - it was a cheap add on.

My 1911 cowhide holder gets wet with me and feels just like my boots when I am working, damp like the rest of me. Get which ever one and just keep on doing what you are doing. Ever had a sweaty t-shirt? Dries out after a while, just like the boots, molded to fit. Crossbreed's look like a big glob of leather, and take a few extra seconds to get adjusted to where it fits well with jeans that the belt loops may very, but it works. Set it and then forget it. Definitely the best most comfortable IWB I have ever worn.
