    New holster

Here is a new holster I'm working on . This I guess is a proto type. @ changes I'm making is a longer kydex to completely cover the barrell and the cant will be a little more to ease on drawing the gun. So far its very comfortable. have worn it about 3 weeks now . Gun almost feels like a derrianger on my hip.. Hope you enjoy..

It looks good. How is the draw on it?

this one was easy to draw but a little tricky reholstering. The new one looks just like this but the cant is about 3 degrees more and is a big differance in draw and reholstering.the klydex is longer so I can carry my full size kimber in it.I extended the belt loops further out so as to dissapate the weight more.so far it makes a 5" kimber feel like 2 ounces....

Looks very promising. But may I suggest you cut out some of the leather from around the grip? Would certainly make for an easier draw and take out some of the overall bulk.

the extra leather is there to keep the butt of the gun from laying on your skin.Had a problem with my other holster in the summertime letting the handle of the gun rubbing my skin when I sweated. the sweat rubbed the finish off the handle.the holster is very cool in the summer and doesn't let the moisture from your body get to the gun.It is very easy to draw and reholster the gun. the new one I made has about 3 degrees more forward cant to it. the kydex is rough side in .

I know it's your personal preference and these are your own holsters, but if you ever consider selling them, some rules to live by.

    1. Never cover the magazine release.

    2. Always allow for an un-impeded combat grip. Basically, you should be able to completely grip the pistol without your hand touching anything. There should be no grip adjustment after the weapon is drawn.

    3. Who knows three. I just wanted to share those two.

    Very nice work!!!

thanks jarhead. These wont be for sale, been down that road before. Probably just build a couple for friends. I looked on the internet at a lot of holster designs and came up with this one design. Probably wont be the last. But this one feels real good. It doesent impead the combat grip cause my hand is sliding under the grip against leather , not my skin.Feels good not to scrap skin when drawing. Let you concentrate on the draw more than pinching skin. You would have to try it to belive it . I spaced the hooks a little further out to distribute the weight more.Makes my 5" kimber feel like my bersa 380. thanks for the info........

    gunnerdd2-

I would look at spacing the hooks (mainly the rear one) a bit farther from the Kydex to allow the leather more room to bend and conform to the curve of the body. I carry in a similar design and appreciate the distance between the hooks and Kydex.
