Pocket carry...
I plan to be adding a snubbie to the stable this year as a bug. I want to do pocket carry. I wear jeans quite frequently and wonder if carpenter jean pockets will be able to conceal it well with a in pocket holster. Any other style/brand suggestions for this type of carry? I was considering a S&W in a bodyguard style. Your thoughts and input will be welcome.

My 642 is only carried in the pocket.
A holster is a must. If you can stick your hand into the pocket with the top of the pocket just past your wrist, and are able to spread your fingers out a little, a J frame will fit. I've found that carpenter jeans often have more of a "slash" pocket that is lower on the side seam, thereby making it more difficult to conceal the butt of the gun.
The other key consideration is the shape of the pocket, which will dictate whether you go with a Mika Round Cut or Square Cut (trust me--if you're getting a J frame, you need a Mika). While on order, pick up a Desantis Nemesis or Uncle Mikes. Both are cheap and available.
Cheers!

+1 on the 642 pocket carry. I just bought a DeSantis Nemesis for $19 and it disappears pretty handily in my pocket. My only adjustment to pocket carry has been keeping my ID fold and money and loose change in my left pocket now.

I would get the 642 Centennial style, but with cargo pants the Bodyguard style would work, but it would be tight with jeans unless they are baggy.

If you're a working man--or not--, try a pair of Riggs Workwear by Wrangler "Ranger" pants, which are great for contractors. They have several side pockets, some with flaps, and look like tactical pants but about a quarter of the price. I tuck my Ruger LCP in the right side flap pocket to protect it from sawdust and dirt, and work all day forgetting that it's there. Check them out at Carhartt Clothing, Dickies Workwear, Wolverine Work Boots, Carhart Work....
I ain't much to look at, believe me, but evertime I've worn them people comment about how great they look; and several of my gun-totin' buddies have started wearing them.

Another vote for the 642 and MIKA pocket holster. I have also used the "Pocket Grabber" by High Noon.

My 2 favorite front pocket holsters. Either one will do well in your carpenter jeans.
