I'm going to be getting my XD 40 4" service model tomarrow and was wondering if anyone can recommend a IWB holster? Also leather or kydex?
I've been to alot of websites and seen alot of holsters. I know most of you probably have bought so many holsters you have a dresser full so any recommendations would be great.

DeSantis Launches Updates on Scorpion
Scorpion IWB Holster
I really can't say more about the Scorpion IWB kydex from DeSantis. It's my EDC holster of choice for my Glocks IWB. I also think the Raven holsters are comparable or maybe even better.

I ran a Crossbreed Supertuck (kydex/leather combo) for my G19, but have been using an UBG Canute for my new Kimber, and there's no contest, I *love* the UBG. Very reasonable prices, only like $70 for a quality holster.

I'm partial to the Summer Special II for my Revolvers and "bottomfeeders".
If you don't want to wait six months, try the Mitch Rosen "Express Line". He makes a good Holster too.

Here's the IWB I ordered. Very much like the UBG Chanute.
Kimber Ultra Carry II, Glock G23 & G36, Kahr PM9, Winchester 1300 Defender 12gauge pump
(my favorite but hard to hide)

There's a reason why so many of us have "holster drawers". That's because holster fit is pretty individual and then everyone has slightly different tastes and priorities. What works for one does not always work for others.
Some designs have a wide following while other people try the same holster and it just won't work.
Try talking with a few custom makers about the gun you want to carry, physical build and how and where you will be carrying. The good ones will tell you what has or has not worked for people like you in their experience.
If you want personal favorites mine run to K&D (Thunderbird) and Andrews Custom Leather (McDaniel II) these days.
If you stand up and be counted, from time to time you may get yourself knocked down. But remember this: A man flattened by an opponent can get up again. A man flattened by conformity stays down for good. ~ Thomas J. Watson, Jr.
