    Best OWB Retention Holster?

I'm looking for something I can wear that has retention so I can OC, yet is kept close to the body so i can throw my shirt over it and CC.

Currently using the blackhawk on a paddle and it's fine right now for cc'ing, as im wearing a jacket all the time. but during the summer it absolutely sucked for confident CC'ing as it printed pretty heavily while wearing just a tshirt.

I guess part of that is due to not having any gun belts. just crappy dress belts i bought from a department store for 20 or 30 bucks. So I dont use the belt attachment, I use the paddle, which keeps it ever further out from my body.

    Hi,
Good holsters, such as those from Sparks, will be so tight that I do not believe one needs retention. Unless you draw from the correct angle the gun will not come out of the holster. Mine are tight enough that even a scuffle would not cause them to come out, and I would not worry about someone snatching it from the holster.

You must have a solid gun belt for the holster to remain where it belongs.

    Best,
    Jerry

Galco for OWB "retention" would be my first choice.

I wear a Galco COP 3-slot that conceals my P97DC just dandy year round. Inexpensive, effective, good quality, and it has a thumb break for retention.

I have a Fist #12 Basic for my XD45 compact and I love it. The retention is great, and it pulls up tight to the body. Here is a link to their site. FIST, INC.

visit Don Hume Leathergoods web site. you need a good 1 1/2" belt for your holster.

What do you have as a CCW? In my experience, the Blackhawk Serpa paddle holds the weapon tighter to the body than the belt loop attachment. But I agree you do need to get a good gun belt.
