kydex for smith and wesson airweights

Anyone carry an airweight in a kydex holster? I like the fobus holsters, but I have read that the kydex and the airweights finish dont get along. Seems the kydex scrathes the finish from the barrell and cylinder.
    Any experience

In my opinion, Fobus is junk. I have Kydex from Comptac and FIST for my J frames. Both are great. Yes Kydex is harder on your gun's finnish so if you want to keep a pretty gun then you might want to avoid kydex. I look at a handgun as a tool and tools usually get scratches here and there.

Fobus is injected plastic, not kydex.

Kydex will wear at tension points and small areas, were leather tends to wear more evenly. Either way, any holster will wear on a gun.

Agree on Fobus. Had one for 24 hours. Back to the store. Pull the handgun and you've got a holster stuck to the end of it. Sorry for the digression.

Not a Fobus fan...Great if it works for someone but there are better options out there.

When it comes to a holster, Ill gladly pay more for the right one.

Any holster will wear the finish in time. Kydex is harder on the finish, but they are so slick when drawing the gun.

I have used the plastic Fobus paddles for 10 years or so without any problems. Others evidently have problems, but I have not. Personally I wear one more than any other since it is very convenient.

My Comp-tac paddles are better holsters, but I don't have one for my P3AT or my 642 so I wear Fobus with satisfaction.

Look at the SERPA for the j-frames...they look nice.

    Concealco for J Frame

    I have a concealco holster for my S&W 642 J Frame.
Its super comfortable, very concealable, it is leather,
fast on the draw and retains well. Take a look at the site. AJ is great to do business with. I also have his holsters for S&W K Frame and Glock 27.

The Tucker cover up is a really good J-frame holster.

I have a Crossbreed Supertuck for my XD. I was just playing around and tried it with my 642.... fits perfect, lol. Snapped in like it was made for it. Rarely carry it that way, but thought it was interesting.
